Ah, FTTPoD is a largely theoretical product where the householder pays the full cost of a bespoke fibre connection from the nearest cabinet: this can be tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds, so basically never happens.
This does then raise the question of why Openreach thought attendance was necessary, because it shouldn't be for FTTC.
Personally I'd suggest plugging in the Now Hub and waiting until tomorrow to see if the broadband connection goes live anyway.

All new Superfast is FTTP where optical infrastructure is available, otherwise it's FTTC.

@TimmyBGood will SKY be able to sort this out for me?
It's very confusing, I still have not received any message from SKY that my broadband has been activated. SKY kept on saying that it will be activated remotely & ignored my questions about the OpenReach engineer visit (which SKY did not inform me about).
Until now I have no internet connection

With remote activation it's not unusual for data to start flowing only after midnight at the end of the activation date.
I'm afraid I don't know what implication the message from Openreach about the engineer has: for FTTC attendance at the address shouldn't be necessary as long as there's a master phone socket.

Keep an eye out for an invite or blue chat bubble which should appear later this morning.
When the blue bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or it will be automatically closed.
Be reassured the email & message is from Sky and your details are safe and secure.
If you are using Safari please make sure that Hide IP Address is not checked in order to see the blue bubble. If you are having trouble finding this to check the settings, use another browser such as Firefox, Chrome etc.
I would also recommend that if not already on, that you turn email/private message notifications on to avoid missing any alerts

Posted by a Sky employeeGood morning. Unfortunately we won't be able to assist through messaging as we do not have access to Now accounts, so they would need to be contacted directly. Below is a link to the contact page from their site.
