Broadband activation

Today (3rd Feb) is activation day for my new Sky broadband package. I have connected everythg up correctly and despite many attempts with Sky assisatnt and talking to Sky directly my hub still shows an orange light. Sky guy said there is an issue with the line and so has appointed an Open Reach engineer to come out

 

So, since this is two days away I have reinstalled my Plusnet hub and it works, so the question is why does the Plusnet hub work (obviously using the same socket, line etc) but Sky one doesnt , any ideas? I think i will cancel Sky and stick with Plusnet

Broadband activation can occur at any time up until midnight tonight.
