Broadband Speed - Moving from Virgin?

We are already with Virgin Media and have fibre with broadband download speeds (just checked) of 274Mbps.

When I go to the Sky website to see what speeds I can get they state I can only get 67Mbps and I'm worried about signing up to Sky and then finding out I have problems such as buffering & being too late to do anything about it by then.

I have fibre coming into my house, shouldn't Sky know that?

As I said, I'm confused about fibre coming into my house; is it because Virgin (possibly) have their own 'street boxes' seperate to BT, I don't know how Sky gets into my house should I go down signing up with them and I can't find a way of talking to Sky directly?

Can I contact Sky via email to ask them this question?

Any help/advice would be very welcomed.

Sky and other Openreach ISPs cannot use Virgin fibre infrastructure: that's effectively a private network.

Sky has quoted you an FTTC speed, presumably because Openreach hasn't got their FTTP into your area yet.

BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which broadband provisioning type is applicable.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.
