Broadband Farce.
In January of this year U left Sky broadband because my renewel was undercut by Vodaphone to the tune of £15/month. In spite of phone calls Sky would not budge in spite of me being a longstanding customer for many years. Sky's then glass, broadband and mobile.
when I phoned last Monday to renew my glass/ Sky sports contract etc and was offered a really good deal to renew plus a deal to rejoin Sky broadband , fibre 160 as previously.
When asked I requested to retain my existing number and was told that was not a problem.
My new router arrived on Wednesday of this week and when I got up on Thursday it had been changed over so I plugged in the router. Broadband was working but not landline.
I phone tech dept and was told the landline could not work as my phone had a dsl socket and it needed to be plugged into the old type by socket on the router. The advice was to go out and buy a new phone ad when I asjed about the TOI/ Europe socket on the router was told this would not work in the UK.
This in spite of the fact before I changed over to Vodaphone that my existing phone had previously been plugged into the previous Sky router and worked. They were adamant I needed a new phone. I was not happy but went out and bought a new BT twin pack for £40.
I tried ringing my old number and was told it no longer existed so I phoned Sky and was on the phone for 1.5 hours, with three different people.
I was told I had been given a new number because the original operator had requested it in spite of me asking to retain my old number. I was told my old number had disappeared and could not be reused.
I was then transferred to the tech dept who told me my landline should be up and running within 48 hours.
It fully came on overnight and I plugged into my new phone and it was working albeit on the new number. Being who I am I tried my old phone in the ROI/Europe socket and hey ho it worked!
No great surprise to
me but £40 out of pocket due to the advisor in the tech dept!
Have provided them with feedback as requested today and suffice to say it was not very complimentary.
I test my case but doubt very much apologies will be forthcoming from Sky let alone my £40 for an unwanted phone.

Re: Broadband Farce.
I realise that. Just posting on here for people to see. I have had a guts full of Sky over what has happened. I did complain earlier yesterday and the complaint was acknowledged and then shut down without an answer.
My feedback has been given I hope something comes of that but I doubt it!
