Broad band not achieving 150mbps
Hello, my broadband is very glitchy, I am paying for 150 mbps. I've tested and I'm only getting 71.7 mbps, as a maximum using a speed test. Can someone from sky read this and help me get it improved. I've been here 7 days and it's terrible. The issue is on my pc which is hard wired into the router, so it is not a WiFi issue. We are using 2-3 mobiles in the house, 1 computer and a tv. Not all are being used, so I think more bandwidth needs to be alllocated. If I was seeing a true 150 mbps then equipment would be at fault. But it's not that. Please sky, can you give me what I am paying for?
Has anyone else experienced the same when they have joined sky?

You're posting to a customer Community. It's very unlikely that Sky will respond to your post.
I'll move your post to the Broadband forum.

@Boardingmonkey You need to go and post your service checker history that the hub check is seeing. Link to the service checker is below.

Re: Broad band not achieving 150mbps
Its also worth noting that its quite typical speeds will fluctuate for the first couple of weeks of a new broadband connection. This is usually due to the ISP constantly running various tests and making tweaks to ensure everything is configured correctly to get the best possible speed.

Re: Broad band not achieving 150mbps
Thanks for the comments, my issue is that I should be able to watch an ultrafast film on my computer and also on tv, two people in different rooms. But the computer isn't handling it and a timer is showing. I've checked the speeds and sky say it's running at 150 and other checkers are saying it's running between 20-70 approx. I think I have to call Sky. They shouldn't be selling 150 and seeing if they can actually give me less by giving false readings of supply speed in the app. It's very frustrating especially as fibre has been installed in my road. There's no excuse.

Re: Broad band not achieving 150mbps
@Boardingmonkey how is your computer networked? If you use a gigabit Ethernet cable you should be able to access close to 150Mb/s but if you use wifi the speed will be whatever the wifi will support. Its an incredibly common question we get on the forum. WiFi speeds depend on the layout and type of construction of your home and are not something sky gurantees will deliver the full connection speed. While there can be issues with connection speed thst Sky's checker misses those are very rare.

Re: Broad band not achieving 150mbps
Morning, it's a gigabit Ethernet cable plugged into the router and 4m in length to the pc. I'm happy with the wireless side of things and understand that sky need to provide 100 Mb/s from the 150 Mb/s for more than 3 days before a claim can be made. My issue is that my Ethernet cable to PC from the router wasn't achieving that. In my case skys checker hasn't picked that up. When checked it says it has been checking by providing when it last checked, but it's not accurate. I have a TP-link units which are working fine.

Hello, yes it's a gaming pc. I've been checking through the day and it's slowly improving, but still not fully there. Maybe it will improve soon

Re: Broad band not achieving 150mbps
@Boardingmonkey As you do not say exactly which connection you are on, if you do happen to be connected to G.Fast on the older VDSL copper connection at the 150Mb/s rate then just getting the max at 150Mb/s will be hard to hit every time, FTTP will be more consistant. You also mention that you have Tp-Link on the system, powerline of wi-fi extenders which ones!
Speed checkers do not do much but have a check on www.fast.com and also the intensive https://speed.cloudflare.com/
