Discussion topic: Band width 5GHz need 2.4GHz for Alexa plugs etc.

Just have my Sky Broadband Hub SR203 up and running. Great. Only problem is the Alexa plugs etc. are on 2.4GHz band width. Hub is 5GHz.
Can I change the band width if so how?

@JezD the SR203 is a dual band router (ie both 2.4 and 5GHz) but some IOT kit will not link to a dualband SSID where this happens you havecto split the bands to give two SSIDs and link the units to thec2.4GHz band. You will find the instructions here Split Sky WiFi bands

Note that you want the device (phone or tablet) which is hosting the app intended to control the IoT hardware to join the separated and renamed 2.4Ghz signal too. Once the IoT hardware is working then typically the app device can go back to 5Ghz if that's what it defaults to.
