Lucky I found this post because when I called Sky Support they said if I upgraded and paid more for the new Sky router v6 or something it's called it might fix my issue.
Are you kidding me?

To prove to yourself and to Sky that this is not the Apple device or software issue, just use second iPhone as hotspot and connect your main iPhone to it and set up Homepod on that network and you will see that homepod works well.
This is the problem that Sky has to solve.
To me this is sufficient reason to break the contract.

I used my iPhone as a hotspot , connected my iPad to it and then setup my HomePod mini. It worked! Thanks! It is Sky's problem to solve.

@KevNewMedia Kev, this wait is unacceptable. Sky have rendered a device that I should be able to use as I please useless.
We demand a solution today. Send out different routers with different fireware, if you can't do a firmware rollback on our current hub

Hello @KevNewMedia,
This morning the Homepod worked and stopped working at 16PM (10 minutes more or less).
Maybe this info can help people working on this case.
If you need any other info or help, I am happy to provide all information that are in my power.
Regards

Here we go again, last week my 2 homepods started to work, and yesterday they stopped again. Sky is a **bleep***rs

It's been a week since my HomePod stop connecting, went to Apple yesterday and it connected instantly, when do we get an update from sky?

Ours stopped again yesterday. Very disappointed and frustrating this issue is still ongoing. Is this now due to software not working with the routers?

@KevNewMedia is there any update or a timeframe for a solution? I understand this may be complex but multiple users are affected and the issue has been ongoing for months.
My HomePod minis connected this evening for less than 10 minutes but are now not working again.

Glad to see it seems I'm not the only one with this issue.
Both HomePods this morning in my home have stopped connecting over the 5GHz band to my Sky Hub and no matter what I've tried (reset HomePods, reset network settings, reset router etc.), nothing has worked. Neither my 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands have given me any success either.
Right now I've got two HomePods awaiting to be setup after performing factory resets, so cannot do anything until this has been resolved by Sky.
I tired the mobile hotspot test with my iPhone and can confirm the HomePods were setup successfully when I tried this, so this confirms it's a Sky broadband/router issue without a doubt.
Router FW v7.03.0400.R.

@Foobarbiz you said that they told you that if you pay more (upgrade) then it will work fine. This makes me think that they just switched off the ports for Homepod on purpose because Homepods are loading the network and if you want to use it, you have to pay more.
They probably know exactly what the issue is and how to fix it but they don't want to.
Very clever move. Congrats to the master mind, give him a raise.
