Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

When I try to log in to my router using 192.168.0.1 (to check the firmware version) before long it asks me for a username and password and says that this will be sent "unencrypted".

Which username and password is this exactly? My Sky details card for this router has a "wifi name" and "password" and "pin"! But it is none of these...

It's not clear what username and password is required to log in to 192.168.0.1

can anyone advise? Thanks!

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

@Stevie-C That only applies if the user has not changed it from the default setting on the rear of the hub, which can happen if they wish to do.

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

Hi @KevNewMedia - I'm still awaiting an official Sky answer to my post (with all my respect, @JimM1 you are not marked as "Sky employee" so I won't take your answer for an Sky official one (except if you are a Sky employee, in this case, please make this more visible ;-)).

@KevNewMedia

Are you able to share the updated firmware files? (even privately if you don't want to share them publicly)

I'm interested by the  Hub 4 firmware : 7.03.0509.R.

Please don't answer to me it's not possible because... it is clearly technically possible (you have the functionality available in the Router UI). I will be more willing to understand something like "We, Sky, don't want to share firmware publicly because X, Y, Z.

If Sky doesn't want to share the updated firmware publicly,, can you please give us a rough idea on how long it will take to have all the Sky routers updated with the new version of the firmware? Reading a lot of posts in this forum, I have the impression it can take months to have a firmware rollout completed? Do you confirm? If not, how long could it take? Again here, you have already the experience of firmware updates and you are able to share the data from previous firmware rollout update. Don't answer "coming weeks..."

Don't get me wrong : I just want my homepods to work in my house!

I work in IT, in support management, for a big company, so I do know how it's working and the process around this... but guys... we are waiting since... beginning of DECEMBER 2023!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Vincent

Re: Apple HomePod Won’t Connect to WiFi

@Tidou You are correct i am not a sky employee just a customer like yourself, and this is a cust - cust support forum so trying to help as best we can.

There are over 6 Million hubs getting FW updates, and various models of SKY routers.

There is ABSOLUTELY no release to any specific individual account.

The release is driven by SKY normally overnight to minimise customer impact, and it will/does take weeks to happen.

Kevin cannot look into a crystal ball and say when/where/how for specifics, it jus happens.

You will see that some other customers have had updates, my fathers SR115 has been updated over a week ago, but my SR203 still awaits.

It will happen when it happens, you are unlikely to get a secific answer,  this is the best info i can provide for you.

Hi @Tidou

Whilst we want everyone to get the update asap, we won't be sharing the files.  We're not in a position to pull individual customers out of the roll-out. As @JimM1 has said, we have more than 6 million hubs to update.  These releases usually take approx 3 weeks. This date may slip, if we find a problem and need to pause the release.

Thanks
