Accessing my SKY Ultra Fast Router as Admin.

I used to be with BT, which was great when I was on copper until I got upgraded to FFTP.  Then I was constantley losing Internet connection and I had to Reboot the 'BT HUB 2' multple times a day to get it back.  So I swithed to SKY Ultra Fast and now getting 500Mb/s for the same price of 150Mb/s with BT  However, with BT I could login to my Router as Admin (sticker on Router) to make any changes (i.e. restrict kids WiFi access times, etc.).  Yet there is no sticker on the SKY Router.  I know my Router's IP address, but when I try to access with a browser (as did with BT).  I just get a "no page found" responce.  So, why am I getting this respomce, and how do I access my SKY Router without paying SKY extra for access?  Can anyone help?

While I'm sure you are trying to help.  The Sky App on smartphone doesn't give Admin access.  Just options to look at a few details and to pay more for add-ons. Thanks for trying, but do you understand what Admin access is?

I'm reasonably familiar with the concept, yes.  There's a longstanding bug in the Sky system which causes it to be slow to populate the Max admin tabs in the My Sky app for some users, as widely discussed in other forum posts.

Once the tabs appear you'll find the admin settings as described in the link I posted above, for SSID renaming, WiFi key change, encryption level setting, port forwarding, DMZ etc.

The one you won't see there is an option to unsynchronize and rename the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands individually, because that's not an option on this model.  For recalcitrant IoT devices a workaround is to temporarily disable the 5Ghz band.

@AC-Buck

The white Max Hub is administered through the My Sky app.  There should however be a label on the unit itself: if there isn't then that's an error in manufacturing.

WiFi details (WiFi name and password)

Find your hub’s default WiFi name and its password are on the bottom of your hub. Or on the 'Keep me handy' card that came with your hub.

I've got the SKY MAX Router (white one).  There no label on Router at all.  It came with a calling card showing User login details, but there nothing aout Admin.  Sky wants £5 a month extra to give me control.  Just another way for Sky to boost profits.  😔

There no label or any markings on Router except the ports.  Details supplied on a seperate calling card that makes no mention of Admin logon.

@AC-Buck  All the settings you need are done through the Sky app for the Max router and not through the normal admin login older routers have.

Hi,

I have the Max hub,

The hub has standard login details

192.168.0.1

Login = admin

Default Password = password

I use it to view real time connection stats and system event logs.

@AC-Buck all of the white Sky Max hubs should be printed on the base with the SSID and WiFi passcode with a QR code to program devices with a camera.

Re: Accessing my SKY Ultra Fast Router as Admin.

Well, I now got access to the Sky Gateway using that IP address.  However, it doesn't accept "password" for "Admin" login.  At least I'm further on now.  😀  Any other suggestions for PW?

The monthly fee for WiFi Max brings Parental Controls and 'pod' booster loan.  It's not related to Hub administration.

I'm a dumb F.  Just noticed it telling me the logon PW on page.  🙄  Account locked for now, so will try later.

Re: Accessing my SKY Ultra Fast Router as Admin.

@AC-Buck The admin password is the wifi password.

As others have pointed out you have to manage most things in the My Sky app due to the hub 6 using cloud based technology.

Making changes to things like WiFi SSiD and password, etc..in the GUI will revert to what is setup in My Sky.

@AC-Buck the user is admin - small a - and the default wifi password will work it doesnt change if you have changed the wifi password yourself.
