ASUS RT-AX58U or ASUS DSL-AX82U needed to fully replace Sky router?

Hi all,

I currently have the Sky Q Broadband Hub 4 Dual Band Wireless Router Sky SR203 running Sky Broadband Ultrafast Plus 500Mb.  This plugs into an Openreach modem like the one I stole a picture from Google of below.  I want to completely replace my Sky router but I'm confused whether I need the RT model or the DSL model of the AX82U.

I searched the forum buut I'm not confident enough to bite the bullet.  I'm hoping the RT as it's £100 cheaper.

@electricyoot given thst you have a full fibre connection with an ONT you do not need a router with a built-in DSL modem like the Asus DSL-AX82u. Simply plug an ethernet lead from the ONT into the WAN port on a router like the RT-AX86U. You wil need to configure the unit to authenticate the connection plenty of walk throughs for Asus routers in the forum if you run a search.

Sorry typo in the subject.  It should be RT-AX82U or DSL-AX82U.

@electricyoot

Note that no non-Sky router can 'fully replace' a Sky Hub if Sky Talk Internet Calls ('landline' voice calling) is required.

Thank you @Chrisee Chrisee.  After reading that was my understanding too but wanted to double check before I ordered.

Thanks @TimmyBGood, I don't use or need the landline so that won't be missed!
