3rd party wifi router

Hello.

Can someone please help me with an advice regarding a good 3rd party wifi router that can replace the stock one from Sky. My Ring Doorbell is struggling since I moved with Sky and using this router.
There is no fiber at the moment where I live and my router model is SR203.
Any help is appreciate

Thank you

At the minute the only wifi 6 rt ax asus modem router is the asus dsl rt ax82u.

You can still still buy asus dsl ac wifi 5 modem routers which have better wifi.

What connection do you have? Superfast fibre to the cabinet or full fibre?

What budget ? Do you just want to get wifi to the doorbell?

Re: 3rd party wifi router

I am very ignorant regarding all this. I don't have fibre and my top speed is 73MB.
from my knowledge there is no fibre in my area.
budget is between £100 - £200

thank you

Please be aware replacing your sky hub negates sky internet calls . Is your telephone plugged into the back of your sky router or a standard openreach/bt mastersocket

Don't get confused with trying to get a better modem/router when all you want is better wifi. You can get a asus rt ax55u or rt ax56u and use them as access points etherneted to your sky hub

Re: 3rd party wifi router

You mean connecting the 3rd party router to my sky modem and use it just for wifi?

it wouldn't be simpler to buy one that does exactly what my sky router does but does it better?

Re: 3rd party wifi router

But I suppose is not really worth it not to have wifi 6 in 2024, right?

Re: 3rd party wifi router

Oh...I thought wifi 6 is more about wifi congestion.

Re: 3rd party wifi router

Congestion is an issue on 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless bands.

The solution is 6GHz which is very quiet but the equipment is expensive currently., eg: wireless 6E.
