@Chrisee thanks for the reply, whats a wifi access point compared to a new router? the sky employee recomended a asus router to me for better wifi coverage in my house if i didnt need the landline any longer. So could i connect the sky hub with the ONT, have the asus router connected to the sky hub and get better and more reliable speeds in my house?
thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ibrar1 you could havecan Asus router behindca Sky hub but you msy hit issues with some apps typically things like gamers communication and some private VPBs businesses use dont like double NAT set ups. An access point is simply the wifi stage without the routing function. Some routers can be set up in access point mode lije my TP-Link Deco units which I bought because I only needed better wifi. A lot depends on your usage pattern and of course budget.

so for just for gaming and normal house wifi needs no professional use cases, so would u recommend the access point tp link then? and with that does that act as one netword ? i just want better wifi speeds all over my house with also having a landline for my parents.

Find out more@Ibrar1 each house is different but the whole home systems like Deco or Netgear's Orbi or one of the others set up as Access points should work. Gaming should be OK but if at all possible use ethernet cables for gaming as that reduces jitter caused by wifi interference and hence ping spikes etc.

Ok so, i connect sky hub to ONT, turn off its wifi and only have landline working. Then get a deco mesh network in access mode connected to the sky hub ? WHich should make my 900mbs speeds more reliable in my house.
Ive also read about bridge mode or is that not relevant in my scenario.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ibrar1 the Sky hub does not offer a bridge mode. Your proposed set up sounds right. Not going to promisexspeeds as every home is different but my Deco M4 units exceed 100Mb/s through out my home a lot depends on where you placectge satellite units so you may have to experiment. Remeber the satellites need a decent signal to work so putting them onto landings are a good place in most homes

@Chrisee so I got a tp link router AX3000 and having trouble connecting. So from sky hub Ethernet to wan port on ax. I get 3/4 green lights on ax.
I've gone onto tp link settings and added these setting that I found on other forms.
or was i supposed to somehow change it to access point first ? Cos it's still not working. Another question is the sky ssid just the sky name on the back on the box

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Ibrar1 those settings sre those for directly connecting the TP-Link unit to a Sky FTTC line without using the hub. Ideally you will set the TP-Link up as an access point which I tink is explained here https://www.tp-link.com/us/user-guides/Archer-C2300&A2300_V1/chapter-5-set-up-the-router-as-an-acces....
