Re: itv hub on sky glass
I really hate the new sky glass way of having all the channels as apps when I signed up for it I knew some channels would be apps didn't realise it would be the regular 1-5 channels I've found bbc iplayer to be quite good as is channel 4 I've not watched anything on 5 yet, but itv is awful not only do you have to get through about 20 adverts most of the programs I've been watching go back to the beginning and you can't see what you are ff so end up going past where you were also the quality is awful.
I really think this looks bad for sky as I don't think they explained it to its customers properly because If I'd known how hard work it is to just watch a program in decent quality and with the ease of sky q I'd never of switched, also I thought we got add free as part of our new contract

Re: itv hub on sky glass
Does this only apply to catchup and on demand programmed or is it the hub for live broadcasts too?

Sounds like they are saying it's HD to me.
@Agp66 apparantly the ITV player is in HD but only 720p combined with any compression ITV may use which could affect the quality Sky are stuck really with what ITV provide
Having a look at ITV Hub, it does look like 720p that is overly compressed. So it's not nearly as good as BBC iPlayer. The advantage to BBC iPlayer is that if they have something in UHD, you'll get it in UHD from the playlist.

Re: itv hub on sky glass
Whatever its broadcasted in ITV through the HUB on glass is pretty poor - aside from the fast forward of adverts - its really not even as good as SD....I found similar with older shows on HD Gold -

ITV Hub is better then SD but not as good as HD because it's using 720p that's being overly compressed. So it can look like it's SD depending on the program.
For example, I watched the entire series of Inspector Morse and Lewis. They looked very good in HD from one of the ITV channels (2 or 3) . On ITV Hub, it's night and day,

Re: itv hub on sky glass
I just feel like we have been blindsided a bit as we would expect our viewing pleasure on such a good tv to be excellent instead of such poor quality that we are having to put up, it can also be quite hard to find all the episodes you want I just hope that sky do something about it although I doubt they will see it as their problem but hopefully anyone who is thinking of getting sky glass in the future will read about the issues with the apps/channels and stick with sky q

Re: itv hub on sky glass
I agree we all jumped in to get sky glass after watching how amazing it looked in the videos and obviously we all thought it would be a brilliant watch unfortunately I've been so frustrated with the countless adverts/poor quality programs I could quite happily of reinstalled my sky q

You have 31 days from activation of Glass to contact Sky and get a full refund. They'll take away the TV and re-instate your Sky Q (often with a nice discount) without any hassle too.

My wife feels exactly the same. She is fed up with it already because of ITV Hub and wants to send it back!

It is ITV's problem, I used to work for them and it's always been poor.

If the playlists worked like we originally expected them to, then there would not be a problem with the quality of the programs. IMHO, it's the playlist and the use of 3rd party apps that's letting down Sky Glass.

Re: itv hub on sky glass
I'm still undecided. I've read lots of the stuff on here. Enough to make me wait. Can you clarify something for me? If watching channels 1-5 on Glass live is it always through their respective apps or do they only kick in if on catchup or on demand?
