@gizmo120  just been told by apple that sky didn't want the app that included the library tab they just wanted the app that only the + side of it apple want sky to use the app with the library tab and not just the + side but sky made that decision that's what apple told me

Yep. I entered my apple ID and first it came up with my account and "continue viewing". Cool! Then suddenly the Apple TV home page wasn't showing my account info any more and it was offering me a"free trial". So I left the app and tried to restart it and now it just hangs on the Apple TV logo.  Not a great customer experience 😂

All their apps bar Amazon is substandard. No Atmos on Disney+ or Netflix. I stick to my TV apps and actual Apple TV box. Sky want a one solution for all approach but their substandard apps.

My biggest issue with the sky Q is they took so long to do HDR but they also don't support all the standards on the Q box and the apps don't do all the audio standards.

 

They want the box to be an all in one but they failed badly with the Q box on that. Dolby Vision was a standard that been on netflix and disney+ and apple TV before the third box came out so sky should of made sure the box had support as they were opening it up for apps on the platform and they already had netflix so there was no excuse not to include it and as you said the apps don't even do Atmos. People are subbing through sky and some paying for the top tear on netflix and with the Q box they can't get the quality they are paying that netflix actually provides for if the end user has the supporting equipment (AKA Dolby Vision and Atmos).

The pucks at least fix one of the issues and that's Dolby Vision (I could not see anyone saying about atmos from third party apps on the pucks or sky glass) but they should of had that on the 3rd gen Q box at least since alot of the services already had before the box launched and I would not of minded going to Sky glass if I could get the puck only but not with the TV. The TV would only sit in the shed in it's box unopened so I am sticking to Sky Q until that changes but I atleast have the hardware to play Vision and Atmos as I am paying for it and I wonder if that's a concept sky don't seem to understand they say belive in better but I wonder if they realy belive it cause when it comes to sky I sure don't.

I have an AppleTV account and a Sky Q box - but the verification on the AppleTV account on my phone doesn't work, and there's no option to key in email/password for the Apple TV account, which seems crazy... What to do???

Agreed.

Sky Q should only be seen as a convenient way to access a large amount of content in one place.

But if it's quality you want, not quantity, then you're much better using other sources.

Have the same issue. Keeps telling me to update my account? Directs me to verify my account and payment, then says the information is incorrect.

I have Apple tv already and use it no problem on my smart tvs....this just doesn't make sense. No option to input ID and password is going to be a major problem for most customers.

Hi

I've noticed that, unlike on most other smart TV (+ smart stick) versions of the Apple TV app, the Sky Q version doesn't contain my Library. 
I'd hoped this change meant I wouldn't have to keep plugging my Fire TV stick into the TV, but as it stands I'll keep having to. 
Will the Sky Q version of Apple TV get updated to include my Apple library of purchased films& TV? And if not - why not?

Sky have chosen to use (or Apple have only agreed to supply) the Apple TV+ app on their platform, not the Apple TV app (without the +). 

It is unlikely that Sky will offer the Apple TV app due to it potentially being in competition with its own Sky Store. Customers are often able to order movies and shows cheaper and in better quality via iTunes, and Sky would obviously prefer you bought from Sky Store instead.

I'm having the exact same issues. It allowed me to sign up enter my card details, create an apple ID and then it asks me to sign in on a mobile device but that has to be an apple device which I don't have. I'm now also unable to login the remove my card details which will be charged after the free trial ends. Complete nightmare and clearly no testing has been done before deployment.

Hi my experience is the same signed in and now all I get is the logo what an utter waste of time........ app there to use but unable to, sort yourself out Sky !!

Just noticed the Apple TV+ app on my Sky Q box & was curious to check it out. As others have said, despite the in app banner stating otherwise, picture quality (no Dolby Vision but It is HDR) & sound quality (source coming through as Linear PCM 2.0 stereo) are vastly inferior to that which I get through my Apple TV 4K using the same AV system. The difference is actually night & day!

I'll agree with comments about convenience but it is disappointing when all of the apps available on Sky Q are less good versions of the apps that exist elsewhere. I remember when my Sky Box was at the heart of my AV system. These days I use it less & less for movies & shows which is disappointing.
