That is an unacceptable answer .

 Many viewers have taken out the subscription of the back of sky saying they could use their sky device to access.

And now sky have broken the app.

Not everyone wants to watch TV on their phone or tablet. Or necessarily have a TV that has the apple app on it

Totally agree - I was lucky to have 3 months free with Apple TV+ due to a recent purchase, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered! Seems like more and more of the Sky channels (although I accept this isn't one of them) are becoming subscriptions on top of what is already being charged! Disney+ is one example!

I certainly won't continue with Apple TV+ on Sky when my subscription runs out!

Maybe Sky don't want you to like Apple TV+?

Having said that mine logged in with my wifes apple login as we have family sharing won't work with mine so if you have a family member with an apple account you could try that.

 

I tried it again last night and did watch an episode of Foundation and there was no buffering , so maybe they are working on it?

Hi @Danp1989 - I guess you fixed this by now? The reset unpairs the remote so if that is our issue, you need to switch the Sky Q box on using the button at the front then pair the remote again. The intructions for pairing are on the sky website https://www.sky.com/help/diagnostics/sky-q-remotes/what-would-you-like-help-with.

I'm having the same issue. 

ive tried ALL the system fix things and all the ones it recommends online and it's still not working. 

obviously an ongoing issue with sky and their apple app

Hi. Thank you for this, please can you tell me how long to wait for the apps to be refreshed. They have disappeared but haven’t come back. Do you know how I get them back if the app refresh option doesn’t work. Thank you

thank you, yes figured this out in the end. The original post I followed the advice from didn't mention this I don't think. 

After this, Apple TV worked fine. Thank you for reply.

I just did the apps refresh myself and you need to leave the screen saying "apps are being refreshed " for about 10/15 minutes but eventually it disappears and then they were all back including apple

Also if it helps others my apple app was initially working fine but I got the frozen apple screen after I changed my Apple ID today but the refresh apps trick worked.

For what it's worth, i asked a Sky rep on the phone if there was any update on this problem. He just said that he could see it is logged on their notice board as a known issue that is  'awaiting a fix by Apple'. How long that will take to sort out is anyone's guess :shrug:

Hope this is resolved soon it's getting a little ridiculous now almost a month since launch and still can't get past the apple logo.

Okay l have this resolved now after l phoned sky and got through to a really helpful call centre member

 

He suggested an app refresh but l said l had tried that many times. 

So he then suggested reset settings as this would keep my recordings and network settings safe. 

press home 

go to setting but don't press select

press 0 0 1 select

go to reset

move over to reset settings

press select and confirm

 

Once the box has rebooted up you will have to switch it on by the button on the front 

 

Now only Peacpck will be showing on the app rail but now if you refresh the apps by 

 

pressing home button 

go to setting but don't press select

press 0 0 1 select

go to apps

move over to refresh apps

 

all the apps will reappear on the home page

selecting apple plus it should now load allowing you to sign up or log in. 

He thought this would only have to happen on the main box, but for me l had to also do this on the mini boxes too. 

But now l have access to apple plus. 

Try it nothing to lose hope it works for anyone having an issue. 

You might have to also reconnect your remote control press 1 and 3 together and follow the on screen instructions.

Hi,  got stuck on apple logo on Sky Q main box and mini,  the reset settings in the installer menu worked for me,  what does reset settings actually do ?

 

I only logged out of account and relaunched the app and got stuck,  what is best way to get up and running again without going into installer menu and resetting all the time, reset Apple TV within Apple TV app?  as  resetting terrified me incase I lost all my recordings, but message did say I wouldn't.

 

I never even had to reset the remote too.
