What is the point of me paying all this extra money for so called exclusive premium sporting events ? When you just going to give them away for free ?
The woman's cricket World Cup is the latest, before that it was the final F1 race of the season this list goes on, I'm still expected to pay my premium for all the exclusive events even though they are free ?
what with Away England cricket matches being shown on BT sport now, the Sky Sports package is looking a bit weak at the moment and not worth the money

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI think the main reason why is England getting to the final. Again with the f1 final race last year, uk driver going for the championship so there is some national importance in showing events.
There is no guarantee that these events would be broadcast outside sports so by having sports, you ensure you can watch them
People make complaint that sky are too money grabbing, then when they broadcast stuff on sky showcase, people they aren't money grabbing enough. You can't win.

I agree they are important events but that's why I'm paying a premium to watch them, others made there choice not to pay to watch them. Why should they then be given the opportunity to watch for free just because England have made the final, I subscribed in the hope they would. Sky have offered me no discount as they have decided to give their services away for free.
People could argue that Rangers vs Celtic is a fixture of great importance to the Scottish people but Sky are not giving it away.
Sky's appeal was that you were getting exclusive premium events you couldn't get elsewhere, but you can now and for free

It's not about money grabbing, I pay Sky to get me premium exclusive events I can't get anywhere else, not for them the make me pay for them and them give them free to everyone else.

It happens once or maybe twice a year and does not affect your viewing, so I don't really understand your anger. Just be happy England are in the final and support them hopefully getting some revenge for the Ashes debacle..

I'm glad the Women have got to the final and I'll be supporting, but if they wanted the publicity they shouldn't have signed a contract with Sky, everyone knows their business model and that their coverage, will limit the amount of people that can watch it. They went with the money.....

@charltonman You do realise this event has nothing to do with the ecb contract with Sky, it's an icc event which is covered by a separate contract with the icc
this has nothing to do with contractual positions with Sky and England cricket
