Do programmes originally broadcast in 5.1DD e.g. Handmaid's Tale on C4 retain the 5.1 audio on Sky Stream via the All4 app or do they default to stereo?

They default to stereo if played back via the apps.
5.1 is only available if you watch the live stream directly.

The sound on my TV from the stream puck is very quiet. What setting should I have the sound output on if it's just using the tv?

More nonsense...
I'm resigned to playlist not being fit for purpose, but neither is favourites/tv guide.
I added my sports channels to favourites and then the 'regular' channels.
The now and next rail simply doesn't function for sports - it only has the current programme and not the next...
This product is barely out of beta.

Is it bad I've had for a month and didn't realise you could even add channels to favourites for TV Guide but yeah that does not appear right that next isn't showing on there.

Having just spent 30 minutes on the phone with sky about swithing to sky streams 31 day rolling contract from Sky Q.Was told as my Q contract still got 6 months to run only way to have stream is with a new 18 month contract so im not sure what to day,in reality i am commiting to a 12 month contract from when my current Q contract ends, there,s always a catch with sky!

Simply yes,if you are currently under contract witb Sky Q anx want to switch to stream,31 day rolling contract not available so its either a mew 18 month contr or stay with Q until your contract expires.

Someone telling porkies ,you cannot switch to 31 day rolling contract on stream if you are still under contract with Sky Q.Just been on the phone with Sky for 30 minutes about this very subject.!

@jabroni+joe Nobody is telling porkies. The option to switch to a rolling contract was available during the soft launch but the loophole was closed on the 18th when Stream officially launched.
There were reports that Sky kiosks/stores were still allowing it, but wouldn't be surprised if that option had now been closed.

I'm really surprised that sky still pushing sky stream, when sky Q is supposed to be a flagship offering sky stream you should people who really can't get satellite dish because I live in flats with shared dishes or in a conservation area where dishes are not allowed

I switched from Q and have no regrets i enjoy the layout better than Q and the picture is better and have no problem with the playlist and in the end it will be far superior to Q i believe .
I think some people just like moaning 🤣

@lee9160 Satellite tv isn't going to last forever and everyone will have to move to streaming eventually as that's the future
so sky are doing the right thing imo, even though I'm not yet ready to move as I like the ability of physical recording content rather then be told how long I have to watch, but at some point when satellite tv is no more I know I'll have to move over

@jabroni+joe it would help if you quoted the post you are replying to otherwise it makes it look like your just randomly posting things.
As mentioned, people have, previously, been able to switch from in-contract Sky Q to 31 day rolling stream contract so nobody is lying !

I hate moaning. I'm not making up all the stuff I've posted in this thread. The product simply doesn't work if you want to timeshift sport. And the tv guide doesn't work properly.

I am almost four weeks in to my Stream experience and I am very happy with it. I watch lots of live sport in UHD but I would never dream of time-shifting it so I don't have that problem. Apart from the sport and occasional news, I very rarely watch live TV. As a device for live UHD sport and general streaming of other programs, I can't fault it so far. My remote died for 36 hours which wasn't ideal but it started working again and I now have a spare so fingers crossed.
I was an early adopter of pre-sky satellite TV, an early Squariel user, early Sky Digital user and an early Sky+ user. All had bugs an problems but each one changed my viewing habits in a positive way and Stream has done the same.
