Recently changed over to sky Q. Significant issues with connection between the router, sky Q box and mini box. Speeds drop off with weak signal. What is the best router sky has currently for signal coverage and speeds.
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSounds like your line is stepping down to a 3dB noise margin which allows higher speeds when line conditions are correct but its changing its mind pretty quickly due to conditions, not sure what.
If you are above your minimum speed then its something you'll likely have to live with.
Regarding the SR203, you can get this hub but you have to subscribe to broadband boost. Its only available for free for ultrafast & voip customers.

I should add that sky tech support have been to the property and added booster but has limited impact and speeds drop even more. My contract is up for renewal and don't want to leave but I've had numerous BT openreach inside and outside the property each suggesting updating my sky equipment as limited issues found on the line.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky only has three in-support models. The Sky Hub (SR102) is a single-band antique, the Q Hub (ER110/115) is not the best for WiFi and the Sky Broadband Hub (SR203/204) is typically only available for an extra monthly cost.

Is there much difference between the SR203 and 204 models?
I think I'm maybe on the recommended one. SR203.
My line speed after an engineer visit hits 26/27 megs on download but after a couple of days drops away badly by at least 10mbps. Because such a quick drop engineers are recommending updating or replacing my hub???

Your router stats suggest a connection speed of 19mbps which seems to in line with what you said about it dropping 10mbps from 29 after an engineer. What is the speed Sky said you should get?
Regarding drops the router reports 49 hours without a drop so I would suspect your issues are directly WiFi based.

Having recently moved over from Virgin and their awful superhub 3, I am now in possession of the sky sr204. It is fantastic. A real upgrade. I havent had to reboot it once in 6 weeks. The superhub 3 was needing a reboot daily in the end.

Min 16.1mbps and average 18-32mbps. Just not sure why I lose so much speed after a couple of days post enginneer visit.
Is it worthwhile changing to a different router or replacing my hub like for like?
Or is it something I'll just have to live with?
Thanks
