Thanks @LGUser but I've already tried speaking to escalation team who now say it's been out of stock for a year , which I struggle to believe and they have no idea when they'll be back nor do they have a system to tell me when they are back again. So what do I have to do is phone two or three times a week? to then sit on the phone hoping that someone answers and know what a hdr box is. Every time I've phoned I make it clear with what I'm looking for but at the end of the day they don't know nor do the supervisors when asked to speak to one. I ended up teaching someone over the phone about the different boxes and a link to the page which I don't think is my job to do. Having a read on Twitter it seems to be a common thing the last couple of weeks with sending out completely the wrong box..
Grrrrrrr - that is not true
Edit : Although this may not help your specific case I flagged up your treatment with our contacts within SKY so that lessons can be learnt

The reply I received @nigea99
"Thank you. I apologise that the adviser you first spoke to did not realise we were out of sock on the HRD boxes. I will email a manger now and get your £50 payment refunded to you. We have been out of stock for a while due to a shortage of microchips. I also have been looking to get hold of one for sometime, and especially now the F1 is being shown in HRD but unfortunately we have not been informed when there will be more in stock."
hrd, never fills me with hope they know. Sorry I read it quickly originally not a year but a "while" whatever that is

"Unfortunately I am not sure at the moment. It has been about a year now since they had them in stock, I am sure when they are back in stock they will be advertised."
I knew I saw year somewhere. @nigea99

I guess it is possible that they do currently have another shortage but to say they have been out of stock since early last year is incorrect- they did get more back in stock after they had a shortage at the start of last year.
Please also see my edited earlier post that crossed with your latest one

I suspect, as mentioned, that they may currently have another shortage but this should have been able to have been spotted before you ordered rather than you going through such an ordeal.
I hope that when they do get things sorted that you will be contacted and you have a better experience in progressing any upgrade
There is little I can add. other than to say I am sorry that you have been through this but maybe by your sharing of your experience, it will help stop others getting similar experiences

It's not been out of stock for a year. I received my v3 2TB box on September 20, 2021. When you asked for a new box, did you ask for an HDR box or did you ask for a v3 box? I asked for a v3 UHD/HDR box. But I made sure to specify that I wanted a v3 box so I ddn't possibly end up with a v2 box that also does HDR.
Everytimes I called Sky for something, I'd ask about the v3 2TB box and was told it's out of stock until a call in September. If you'd like, I can give Sky a call and ask if the v3 2TB is in stock.

Thanks @LGUser if you are at a loose end you can try and see what they say when you phone. Think I'm waiting on a hopeful call back tomorrow if not phoning in again on Friday and see if I can get any further. The "advisor" who I spoke to through here has now refunded the charge so technically I'm back at square one again ☹️

Thats very strange out if stock for a year? I just got a HDR V3 2TB box at the start of March paid the £50 self install swapped my v1 non hdr, and everything and all the football F1 looks excellent on my 65inch oled!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@LGUserI am not sure you can specify a V3 if you want HDR as the V2 box shows HDR as well, I actually like my V2 box as it runs much cooler than either the V1 or V3 due to the seperate power block.

After speaking with the customer we have now refunded the upfront payment for the HRD box and checked stock levels but unfortunately there are currently no HRD boxes in stock and we apologise for any inconvenience.

I would like to order a replacement 2TB box for my v1 box.
Is it really acceptable to ask people to keep phoning to see if any have come into stock?
Is it possible for the forum mods or their contacts in the Sky customer service team to post on the forum or private message those wanting a box? This would be much like the expression of interest that was done way back at HDR launch?
Would be even better if it could be added back to the Sky shop to allow online order as it was briefly last year...
Thanks 👍😊

I did specify the v3 2TB box and that's what I have. It runs a lot cooler then the old v1 box which does run hot. I;m very OK with how the v3 box is. It's cool and quiet.

I was told to keep checking when I first ask and was told there was no stock of any 2TB HDR boxes (no v2 or v3). But I called to check (not that often) and eventually was told they have v3 2TB and that;s what I have.. There's no way I would want to be without HDR when I have an LG OLED C1 65" TV.

No HRD boxes? Do you have any HDR ones? 😁
