Upgrading to ultrafast Plus in the future possible?

I am being activated for Ultrafast next week, just got a flyer from BT that my area will be upgraded soon to much faster speeds so can potentially get Ultrafast plus in the next few months, is that an upgrade I will be able to make? Or do i have to finish my 18 month contract before I can change packages etc?

Also I assume Ultrafast will be FTTP and that's why I have to have an engineer visit on Monday?
My current broadband with BT is only FTTC.

It will just be an upgrade. However i would advise that you call sky as opposed to doing it online

If you are being upgraded next week but only going for ultrafast plus in a few months you may be getting ultrafast g.fast which sky may want to recoup their costs before you move fttp

Trying, but every time I try and post the table it tells me it's an invalid file format,m even if I copy and paste it.

ah ok, the table is confusing though, it says under featured products fttp is available up to 330Mbps, but under the table itself it says FTTP is not available and that it's not in a fibre priority program? (obv hard if I can't show you the table)

Thats fttp od where the customer foots the bill can be >£8k.  So you will be getting g.fast 150Mbps. My advice stands re moving to fttp from g.fast. however others will no doubt chip in

Re: Upgrading to ultrafast Plus in the future possible?

i'm not sure if it's G fast or not (i asked sky on the phone if i was getting FTTP and they didn;t know) all I know is an engineer is coming to my house on Monday as a main phone line can;t be used, I need a new box installed (ont?)

(as you can tell I know naff all about fiber)

As part of a G.fast installation, Openreach typically fit a dedicated version of their master socket faceplate, and then test the line to make sure it can actually deliver the 100Mbs guaranteed.

The main concensus i'm trying to get to is move from from g.fast to fttp whilst in contract with g.fast

Re: Upgrading to ultrafast Plus in the future possible?

i'm not sure it is the master socket they are replacing as they said the box they are installing doesn't need to be near the master phone socket at all and to discuss it with the engineer when he arrives.
(as I asked if my ruter could be moved to a different room)

Re: Upgrading to ultrafast Plus in the future possible?

Thats already the socket I have with BT. Fairly sure it's not the master socket they are replacing.
