Uneven Backlight

Hello,

I've had glass for just under a month and I'm noticing dark lines down the screen when on light images. It's especially noticeable when there is a panning shot on screen.

I am aware that it has dimming zones but I would expect them to be even enough for me not to notice whilst watching the TV. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks.

Re: Uneven Backlight

Update - spoken to glassmvp and after a few checks and steps, we determined the TV may need replacing. The customer was directed to call our Glass Tier 2 team. 🙂

Thanks

@glassmvp

That's been widely posted about here: it's not related to local dimming, but is a result of either a manufacturing defect or a side effect of assembly.  Sky will typically replace the set without argument: the gamble is whether you get one that's better or worse.

Re: Uneven Backlight

I've been looking at the ways to contact Sky and I only see phone calls.

I'm autistic and struggle with phone calls so would be better chatting to someone. Is that an option that you know of? If not I can get someone to call for me at the weekend.

Thanks for your help.

@glassmvp Sky dont make outgoing calls however I can ask a Sky agent to open a chat session with you but whether they can sort you out I don't know. Look out for an invitation to a chat from Sky when a button will appear for 48 hours in the forum. You can call Sky 7 days a week of course.

@glassmvp

Registering with the Sky Accessibility Department creates additional modes of contact.  I'll also escalate your post here which should generate an invitation to an online chat.

Edit: @Chrisee best me to it ; )

Re: Uneven Backlight

I personally went through 5 sky glass TVs due to this very issue.

Now just to lay the foundation no tv is perfect. DSE, dark corners, banding etc.

However each of my sky glass showed bad cases of banding. In the end I returned the TV.
