@grant+wilkes

If you were getting lag before you upgraded your broadband and it hasnt changed since upgrading I wouldnt even bother wasting your time and money on new powerline adapters as they will likely perform the same. The performance of powerline is totally dependant on your electrical wiring quality, length and other appliances connected. I suggest you invest your time in looking to get a direct cable run to the Xbox from the router.

@GD1 @grant+wilkes Those particular Powerline adaptors only have 10/100 Ethernet ports on, regardless of supposed speeds it says they're capable of on the box, the limit is about 90ish Mb, even if the chips inside can support higher.

You either need newer power lines with gigabit Ethernet connections, and even those such as AV1200 might struggle to get more than 300 or so M/b depending on your wiring, or you need to find a way of running proper Ethernet cable, which will give you the full throughput.

As for using a Wi-Fi extender, especially on a gaming device, well...the least said the better that is a recipe for lag disaster...🙈

My experience with AV1200 powerlines is that they tend to top  out at around 240 Mbps if there is only 2 in use on the same ring main.

My solution, although a bit pricey, was to add a WiFi 6 access point set to Ch 100 connected to the hub and I'm using a Dlink DAP-2680 WAP in client mode connected to a switch in my office and I get a fairly solid 470 Mbps which isn't too bad considering the DLink is only WiFi 5.

So with the Dlink in client mode that's essentially a dedicated wireless bridge?
