Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

I've tried every option several times and I've had 6 devices delivered with the others working fine which suggests this remote isn't working (never has) Sky is so frustrating to communicate with - I refuse to spend an hour every time there is an issue on the phone in a que - you really do need to look at communication channels with your customers it's shocking

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

OK, I cancelled Sky Stream over a week ago and reverted back to Sky Q due to all 3 of my remotes having died and low and behold a new Sky Stream remote was delivered today (you couldn't make it up), I called Sky to ask what I do with it and they said " It's your's now,we don't require it back"..... So my next question is if anyone would like it just DM me and I'll post it FOC via Royal Mail.

Back to Sky Q and 2 mini boxes after a failed attempt at Sky Stream (again) , VM 1 gb Broadband and Google Nest WiFi Pro.

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

I would urge anyone who is within the 14 day cooling off period to cancel their SKY Stream subscription and send the kit back. Leave it any later and you may regret it!! Until they can sort out the issues with the remote I dont think it is worth the hassle.

I'd have it if no one else already has 👍

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

One thing I tried and I think it has helped, I had some WD40 Contact cleaner, so I removed the batteries and with an early sprayed a little on the earful and wiped all 4 battery terminals. I was surprised the amount of black residue that came off a brand new remote. Since then I haven't had a problem with this remote, so I'm going to try it on the other 3. I'm not positive it's a fix but it appears to have helped my situation.

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

Finally gave up on one of my remotes today and phoned the 0333 number to get a replacement.

Got through in less than 30 secs to a technician who said the cause has been identified and eliminated, all new remotes should be unaffected by this issue and it appears the backlog has been cleared so all new requests should be shipped swiftly and arrive in around 3 days. Apparently they were getting the courier to collect faulty remotes for a while, to investigate the cause, but this is no longer necessary.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but sounds good for me and anyone still affected.

@Jong99

That's really good news.  The problem, of course, is that there will still be thousands of  remotes in our homes that could potentially fail.

I know it won't happen, but it would be useful if Sky could identify where the bad batch of remotes are and automatically send out replacements before more bad feeling is caused by inevitable further failures.

Re: Sky glass remote has stopped working

The twisting trick didnt help but if it does help i used the remote from my sky puck.

Hold 7 & 9 for 7 seconds and then 1 & 3 and mine connected.

Sky are sending me a new remote.

Common issue that the lady assures me is well known and they are sorting out.

Job done. Thanks!

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

Well then seeing that other customers have faced the same issue as me. And that gently twisting the remote fixes the issue. Tried the same worked for me for a while then stops. Just been 2-3 days since I joined Sky Stream. Not happy at all. I'm getting a whole new replacement remote including a new puck as well. Let's hope that remote works well otherwise time to convert to Sky Q 💀

Re: Stream remote completely unresponsive

Can someone remind me of the process to pair a Q remote with Stream? Just had another Stream remote give up on me so until I can actually be bothered to rant at Sky & request yet another replacement I'm sticking with the Q remote.

I did pair one previously on youngest daughters TV but for the life of me I can't remember what I done to get it working!

Sky Q 2TB V3, 3 x Mini’s, Samsung 65” QLED TV, Sonos Beam, Sky Ultrafast Plus FTTP, 1 account for Sky Q & 1 for Broadband!
