Youtube does not support Atmos, nor any type of 5.1 audio from what i researched last time i check.. (not that long ago)

there are however audio tests online if you search for Atmos tests. you can download videos that do.

Nope, that's now the oldest, although still technically 'current'

Re: Speaker tests on you tube - anyone else getting no bass sounds?

How do I get a newer update then because I've tried in the settings and that the newest one it's refreshing to?

You'll have to wait for it to be pushed out automatically to your TV. Sky send out updates in batches. (Then usually have to withdraw them and roll back to an old one when they don't work.)

You have to wait for it to automatically update.

Re: Speaker tests on you tube - anyone else getting no bass sounds?

Or if you can't wait, you can try what it actually tells you to try on the sky website

To run a software update:

  1. Switch the Sky Glass or Sky Stream puck to standby.
  2. Switch it off at the mains and unplug it.
  3. Plug it back in and switch it back on at the mains.
  4. Leave the Sky Glass or Sky Stream puck powered on for 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, switch the Sky Glass or Sky Stream puck to standby again.
  6. Switch it off at the plug and switch it back on again. There’s no need to unplug it this time.
  7. Press the Home button on the Sky remote.

After a few seconds, the Sky logo will show on screen as the TV or Sky Stream puck starts back up. The software version will now be updated to the latest version.

But there is no gurantee it will update anything if the update has not been approved for your device, as above you may still have to wait, this just forces it to happen quicker once they have approved it for your device.

@Maos

The system is specifically designed so a manual update cannot be used to 'jump the queue': Sky batch update distribution because their call centres couldn't handle even a tiny percentage of millions of users phoning in at once.

YouTube TV is a separate streaming service from bog standard YouTube. It only offers 5.1 audio on some TV and movie content from the various channels that it offers, not on standard YouTube videos unfortunately.

Yes, because those instructions are valid for users of devices which miss their automated update  (because the hardware is switched off at the wall overnight, for example, which is still common for a demographic of TV viewer).  As is unfortunately too common with Sky, lack of clarity in this is undoubtedly misleading .
