I am having the same problems with downloads failing ... I am with ee broadband... does anyone know if this problem occurs for those who have sky broadband?
There have been posts from Sky broadband customers who have had the same problem with some downloads.

Ahh ok was thinking of changing broadband prior to this and just wondered if it was worth changing to sky..... probably not then

We are having the same problems and anything to get it back up I am happy to trial. Yes it's very frustrating and downloading from the sky app not working for us either.

@Super+Anthony You need 'Sky Signature' for on demand services, so, 'yes' you do pay for it.
If its not a paid service, why do they specifically note it as part of your bundle?

@Wallis It's not specifically a broadband issue, it appears to be the Sky Q box unable to resolve the Gateway IP address (the address that allows you to logon to your router) to get to the DNS set on your broadband router. 😉

We have been having the same problem for around a month-hadn't changed anything, just began happening when we tried to watch Series 2 of Temple. Hadn't done anything about it over Christmas (as tend to watch the Darts live!) but tried to download a couple of films today and failed each time-even if we tried to download to our Sky Box from our Sky Go app. We have a BT hub with Sky connected via a cable. Went into our settings and changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8, then powered down & re-started-exactly same problem so didn't work. Then changed DNS to 194.74.65.69, powered down and restarted and, fingers crossed, everything seems to be working for now & can download again. This may be a temporary fix, but can only hope. Sky needs to sort this and not just ignore everyone having these problems. Hope this helps someone!

Update...I have been running with DNS 1.1.1.1 for about 4 weeks now, can report no issues.
I have had the occational d-load fail, but retry and it comes down. Also auto next episode is working fine.
ISP is BT.

When will this be fixed? its been like this for over a month, I can only record, I get download failed for every show on demand. I have reset sky box, taken the plugs out, reset the router, deleted loads of shows to create space, nothing works. This needs to be resolved ASAP, surely sky will give a refund??? There's over 100 pages of people with the same issue, so the real estimate is probably 10x that amount.

Sorry, but Changing the DNS will do diddly to 'resolve' this issue .. ( pun intended )
This is a SKY issue and it is down to THEM to 'resolve'

Manifest S1 Episode 3
Fails on Vodafone and SKY moved SKY Q box to relatives location ( naturally they have SKY Q as I recommnded it ..now wishing I hadn't )

It will not get rid of the root cause but it does work. It is actually a SKY recommended workround.
I could download 'didly squat' (pun intended?) But now I have almost no issue.
Check further back in this thread, all the info is there, it is easy to do and for most people it works.

IF this was a DNS issue ( which I seriously doubt) .. why are only *SKY downloads an issue for us ? We can download Netflix, Amazon Prime , Youtube, BBC , ITV , All 4, My 5
Vodafone fibre to cabinet .. SKY Q 2 TB
changing DNS to Cloudflare or Google's makes no difference ...enough baloney .. action required, please
29 Dec 2021 04:52 PM
I am a network engiineer of 35 years standing .. Changing the DNS makes ZERO difference my end .

@Super+Anthony wrote:Don't change the DNS. Sky have mentioned that it's not wise to do it
It's up to sky to sort out not for the customers to try something that is not recommended
Why is it not wise to change the DNS? It's easy to do and easy to undo. Nothing breaks.
