Same as that, for most of us, no issues with anything but SKY. I was given this workround by the SKY engineer on site, he installed Q because I had this issue with my SKY+. When he could not get it to work he checked on his tablet for engineering updates. He showed me the details and performed the change...It works.
The problem did not show on SKY broadband, it was only with 3rd party ISP.
BT is the biggest (EE is BT) It is some issue with SKY changing locations of files but not updating on the default DNS. So, when you connect through BT, the Q box can not find the files (this was directly reported to me from the engineer). Using 1111 or 8888 (cloudflare and google) the problem is reduced for some reason.
Its up to you, it costs nothing to try, delails of how to do it are listed way back on this thread.

You MUSt switch off at the wall after changing and saving new DNS on the SKY box. Leave for 30 seconds, reboot...then chack the change is still there. I found 8888 did not work for me, many other found it did. Mine worked on 1.1.1.1 and is still working fine.

Did you have to pay for the Q box?
Thanks

You don't pay for the box itself - it's loaned to you by Sky. There may be set up and installation charges, however.

@grog+arson wrote:@Super+Anthony You need 'Sky Signature' for on demand services, so, 'yes' you do pay for it.
If its not a paid service, why do they specifically note it as part of your bundle?
From a post around 1625 today, this was from Sky...on a different thread.
"There is a known issue at the moment where downloads are failing. We are in the data gathering stages of the investigation.
The reason no compensation has been offered is we cannot give loss of service for something if we do not have a fix for it yet. And also On Demand is included as free within your subscription, unless you have an old bundle where you pay for Boxsets, in which case, once the issue is resolved, you would get the cost of that package back."

Hi!! Come on Sky get it sorted. Seem to have gone on for far too long now. Frustrating. Get your people on to this and sort.

I'm just annoyed that my mum had to pay £30 for the box to be installed (that she didn't was as happy with her Sky+ box) when they knew her box wasn't the issue (organised before I read this thread so didn't know it could have been 'solved')
Last time she recontracted in September she was told it would be £99 to upgrade to a Sky Q box. I assumed it was free as we didn't have to pay anything - guess we got lucky!

Still can't download using the SkyGo app - hopeless

I've been having download failure problems with my sky+HD box since whenever the king Kong vs Godzilla movie was out. People look to have been reporting problems with this since the end of November. This is a know problem. The Sky reply that on demand is a free service and hence there is no compensation due for the loss of it is arrogant beyond belief. It's not free, they just revamped their packages to make the base package more expensive but look like you're getting your money's worth by including the likes of on demand free. There are a lot of other TV on demand companies who are a damn sight cheaper than Sky and they just work. It can't be that difficult to properly acknowledge the problem and fix it at their end.

I have an agent contacting me via the chat, asking me to reset the settings "again" as my fault is intermittent (and therefore as far as they are concerned not linked to the known issue)
I have refused to do this again, as it doesn't fix anything, but have requested instead a formal complaint be raised. I pointed out many people are experiencing intermittent disruptions - intermittent as they are working out temporary solutions/partial fixes.
I recommend you all request a confirmation of a complaint reference number (which I now have).
Once they eventually figure this mess out , this will be proof of your claim for loss/disruption of service compensation,

Trying to download the Christmas episode of Agatha Raisin on sky max - nothing works. We've had this issue with Peacock and now can't download things we've been saving up to watch that are on other channels

Download failed even on Sky Go. I can dowload to my phone but dont want to see on my phone. Download falied on main Sky Q box and ALL mini boxes

Have also been informed today that it's because I don't pay for Sky HD which is why I can't download.
It's the lying to get people to pay for upgrades that is really annoying me. I bet they are making lots out of people getting upgrades they don't need!

@uhohpandaman Once again it's Sky thinking of themselves and their profits over their customers who are keeping them in a business

Not sure that's right - we pay for Sky HD and still can't download
