SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

52 down, 9 up, bt. Everything has been reset multiple times. 

Trying to download landscapers and American Rust, though we did aMama age to download a Sex in the city about an hour ago from sky comedy. Nothing else seems to work.

In my opinion this all started around the time of that last update, Sky should try reverting to the previous version and see if it works. Nothing to do with rebooting routers or speeds. I t all appeared to work OK until the last update, Anyone here had recording problems like this before the last update?

@KCW If you read back, I was one of the first to report the issue, and also stated that the more people who raise the issue, the more likely Sky are to get involved. Getting Watchdog involved is  a bit dramatic, they havent broken the law. I want this resolved too, but it's not the end of the world lol

Both Sky Q and Sky+HD boxes are affected equally. Coincidentally, I am having a BT router upgrade this weekend, so if as I suspect the problems with failed downloads continue, it will look much less likely that routers in our homes are the cause of the issue.

I also get pixellation on whatever download succeeds, particularly at an ad break.

Getting download failures on all Sky channels, Channel 4 group of channels (except All4), Channel 5 group of channels, some UKTV channels and a couple of NatGeo programmes failed.

Getting worse by the day.

First world problems and all that.  No it's not the end of the world, but Sky isn't cheap, the least people can expect for their subscription is a service that works as advertised.

I'm in the same boat for over a week now. Download failed for all sky on demand programmes such as sky documentaries, sky Atlantic (landscapers) etc etc. 

Was relieved to find this forum as the problem is obviously huge and not my Q box. I'm with BT super fast fibre which all worked ok until a week or so back which I believe was when the software update came. Not happy. We pay a premium for this service and Sky are still taking our money while they know there is a massive issue!... Come on sky get it sorted!!

Incidentally Discovery + is playing up too and cannot load most ( but not all) programmes...

I managed to get an episode of Succession downloaded and watched (by some miracle). However, got to the end of it and the episode ticker shows at the bottom of the screen and it fails for the next episode.

how long am I going to sit here trying to get this one downloaded ? Taking bets.

I bought a Firestick for streaming. Much more reliable than the Q box. Cheap too.

I've had the same issue since Sunday. Spent an hour on the phone to an agent who was very helpful, but couldn't resolve the issue but has arranged for an engineer to come round - although now I'm wondering if its worth it??

I've been trying to download the Harry Potter films, managed to get two downloaded Sunday. Tried to download another tonight about 6.30pm and instantly got 'download failed', Tried again just now and.it downloaded!!! Now Tried to download another one, and got 'download failed'

Was just looking at my account to see if this is a free service and it looks like it is part of the Sky Signature package. But on the Plus side for having Sky Signature they're letting me have Netflix for free

Failed all attempts at downloading the next episode of Succession.

then tried downloading 8-bit Christmas. That failed.

Sky failed me tonight.

I'm trying to confirm something I seem to recall having read. Is it true that there are issues with the BT Smart Hub 2 and Sky or am I misremembering.

Have a read of this thread if you have a BT Smart Hub 2. It's possible some of the problem could be with the Smart Hub 2.

Irrespective of whether BT or Sky is the cause (and I strongly suspect it is the latter), the very least that Sky could do is explain exactly what causes the download to fail with that error. It is THEIR service that people are directly interacting with, after all.

They must have system logs that can point to the casue of this error. Either it is something internal to Sky, or some external service that they are relying on is failing. Either way they must be logging the details somewhere.
