Will you feels silly if/when it turns out to be Sky's fault?

To answer your question if Sky could give me 900 down, 120 up at a similar or better price, I'd certainly consider it.

Was with Sky broadband for several years until they couldn't offer me FTTP but BT could.

I don't care who's fault it turns out to be, so long as it's fixed. Sooner rather than later.

With Sky, you can get 500/50 and downloads on Sky. Isn't 500/50 enough?

Maybe it's both Sky & BT. I don't know. But for some to try to contact news outlets and complain that it is Sky when we do not know who's fault it is is wrong.

@LGUser

I'll ask you once again to leave this thread, you are still offering absolutely no help and are just trolling other users here.

It’s already been stated by Sky that it’s not just BT thats impacted. I don't need to explain again any further, please just go away and stop bothring this thread.

Hey all, me again...

We're still trying to get to the bottom of this issue so I have some more questions if you have a spare minute to help us out... (apologies if you've already posted the answers to these on the thread)

  • Have you tried rebooting the Sky Box and also your broadband router?
  • If you run a broadband speed test what kind of speeds do you get?
  • Is there anyone here having the same issues who aren't on BT internet, if so who is your ISP?
  • Feel free to post anything you else you feel is relevant.

Thanks, appreciate it,

Chloe-W22

Not sure how to quote on here, but

If I wanted 500/50 I could've got that from BT

Going back several years Sky sent me something saying I could have fibre broadband, when I rang to order they said they couldn't do it in my area. Checked with BT and they could, so I went with them.

in the 4 or 5 years I've been with BT, I've never once had my internet go down, so why would I want to change to an inferior service?

I don't see the problem with anyone contacting news outlets personally. Several people have said Sky have specifically said it's an issue at their end. If it helps concentrate their minds to fix it all the sooner, it's all good.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

BT Smarthub 2

Download 40mb/Upload 8mb (this is the same as I have always had and no issues before this started)

Only Sky Channel content is affected, can get on emand from BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, SyFy, Alibi etc....

But does not work on Sky Cinema content, Sky Max, Sky Atlantic, Sky Witness etc.....

Intermittently downloads will work, but rarely.....can jump from a failed Sky download to a non Sky download and it will work fine, skip straight back to the Sky download and it will fail immediately...

I have no other ISP issues on any other devices....only the SKY Q Box

Have rebooted Sky Box and Router, done resets, software updates, DNS changes....everything proposed in this thread and still not working since the 29th November

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Hi there

I have tried rebooting Sky Q and the router. My download speeds are unchanged at 71 and 18 mbs to the hub.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I've power cycled both my BT router and Sky box multiple times. My down speed is 46Mb and up sped is 9.3Mb. The only thing that seems to help is changing my DNS to any of the ones suggested in this feed. Although even then downloads fail or randomly restart. However I have managed to download 3 and a half series of the Wire so this should keep my going for a bit. I guess I'll have to start watching Peacock or something if its still busted after I finish with the Wire

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

No reboots either on server or box. I tried to download a Quest programme last night it failed a number of tries. I tried it again half an hour ago and somehow managed to get it to down load OK. So I tried another programme this time on the Food Network, that failed came up 0% so I then deleted the failed recording from the catch-up screen and then tried again and it recorded OK. Have not got time now to try any more but wondered if this is a way to get round this fault

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@Chloe-W22

  • Have you tried rebooting the Sky Box and also your broadband router? - Yes
  • If you run a broadband speed test what kind of speeds do you get? - 150 down / 30 up
  • Is there anyone here having the same issues who aren't on BT internet, if so who is your ISP? - in our area both BT and Sky use the same Openreach fibre infrastructure
  • Feel free to post anything you else you feel is relevant - can stream OK on Sky Go and,  as a workaround,  can connect PC output to TV HDMI - but not in HD. Far from satisfactory

Hope you can fix soon, been going on for too many days

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Both.
The first sky box reboot worked for one episode of a sky programme- then failed subsequent downloads.
With the BT hub reboot it actually started downloading to 15% then failed.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

That's interesting.

mine either fail on 0 or 1 % or work, never had anything go as far as 15% and stop.
