I have BT broadband and my my Sky on demand stopped downloading a few days ago.

Reset my box etc. but dindn't fix it so searched and found this thread.

I'm not worried who's fault it is as long as its fixed, I have e-mailed Sky with a link to this thead and asked them to confirm if it is a known problem and they are working on it rather than waste time trying to call.

I have found it really useful if we can keep each other informed rather than waste eveyones time.

Please keep the updates coming.

About time they released Sky Q streaming / fibre in UK

Apparently it's available in Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Germany & Italy

Trying to watch Grimm. Seasons 1 and 2 downloaded no problem but season 3 is struggling. Generally have to make quite a few attempts to download an episode and not having any luck at all tonight. We are with BT. Haven’t had a problem downloading anything else so very frustrating.

Grimm seris5 all episodes. We have had problems with downloading all the wY through seris4 too. Just says unavailable download failed. But can download from other channels. We have tried all the fixes suggested. For over £100 per month this is rubbish .

At the moment my Sky q box will not stay connected to the router. Also it keeps indicating it needs to update the software but it is not happening. Anyone know why?

It is a Sky issue and has been since day one of Sky q. I changed from Sky broadband to EE because Sky was not stable enough plus didn't reach certain parts of the house. EE is far better. Everytime Sky q box  is not connecting to the router it is due to the box not the EE router.

 @Alpinerock  - we had the same issue with wireless connection to Q, resorted to hardwiring to router.

Meanwhile, downloads to sky box still fail. Can stream to sky go on iPad or pc but that's not not we want (or pay for)

Just decided to quit Sky lol. Joke of a service. Better off just downloading a season for free off the internet.  No joy from 'customer service' Day 10 now of this....  attempted to book a engineer visit. Another waste of time. They're just stalling people now with engineer visits. Luckily I know a Sky engineer in my area and he laughed when I suggested it. Not a box issue and nothing a engineer can do at your house so don't waste your time. Issue is with Sky servers.

Change dns to 1.1.1.1 

In advanced network settings  restart sky q 

Downloads slow but appears to work

Yere managed to get a couple of episodes downloaded this way yesterday.  Back to Download failed today.

I have SKY Q and if I try to watch a movie through Cinema I get a download failed unavailable error message. I have updated the software, turned both boxes on and off and deleted all queued downloads but still getting the same message. SKY can you sort this out?

I've found giving static IP address helped aswell if not can try dns 8.8.8.8

I Just forced an update on the main sky box, and I'm back up and running.

This is a known issue currently being investigated by our tech teams. Please be assured that this is being treated with priority and we hope to have a resolution in place ASAP.

Changing DNS settings is a temporary workaround that is resolving this for some of our customers. If this hasn't worked, we can only advise waiting for the permanent fix to be put in place. I really do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.
