Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Something else I've just discovered.

Was watching one of the downloads that I eventually got to work, half way through it went all corrupted so fast forwarded to see if it was just a few minutes or the rest of it completely. Got to the next ad break and the ads played perfectly, immediately after the ads back to show and the corruption is back.

My BT router must have some incredible software in it,  not only can it detect Sky and non-Sky content and not download the Sky stuff, it can even pick out the ads in Sky content that it won't download and just show them 😂

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

My broad band provider is BT. Downloads at first failed on Sky channels and now spread to all.

Turned off set to reboot but no joy.I am  not about to mess with my BT hub.Sky get this fixed your end

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Been having this for a few days. I am with BT, but do not use their router.

Sky are my provider of content. BT are my supplier of broadband. I don't care whose fault it is, but the total lack of comms about this is appalling.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Can watch downloads on my Xbox, albeit in rubbish quality and with forced, unskippable ads.

Same content that my Sky box repeatedly fails to download, or when it does, half the download is corrupted, same network, same provider, same router, only thing different is that it's not going through my recently updated Q box, but hey, obviously can't be anything to do with Sky, must all be down to BT!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Just spoke to the help desk and was encouraged as this was the first time they seemed aware of the problem before I told them about it! Said they were still working on it. Also said they are getting same problem with ee.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

First time they'd been aware of the problem, but they were working on it?  😂

How does that work? Never heard of the problem, but they're already working on it and know it's affecting EE as well!

Done exactly you did but no luck.I have BT but friends on Sky have no problems.Spoke to engineer who stated fault at their end and seems to have started after software update.Strangly enough can use Sky Go app to  download stuff to my box but this all takes time

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Sky Go works on the same network. Clearly a Sky problem. Standard business technique to say it's your problem.

You should care who's fault this is. If it's BT, then you can leave BT. If it's Sky, then there may not be much choice.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@LGUser  Why should we have to leave BT to fix something which did work and a service we pay Sky for!!

Remember BT (who own EE) are the biggest UK supplier!

Sky need to fix their service to work with it!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Don't see why Sky can't just allow those of us affected to role back to the previous software, when it worked, at least until they can come up with a fix.

Why not get BT to roll back whatever it was they changed that caused the problem?

Maybe Sky cannot change something on their end to fix the problem and it's BT that has to undo what they did that caused the problem.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@LGUser prove to me who is at fault then. Differential diagnosis says it's not the broadband provider.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Because as far as I'm aware BT hasn't changed anything.

Sky have and the issue has only arisen since Sky changed the firmware on their box and as I've previously stated, a couple of times, the recently updated Sky box is the only device affected, seems to me that right there is the common denominator.

I'm not saying Sky should force everyone to roll back the firmware, just that those of us affected are given the opportunity to, until they can resolve the problem.
