Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Othr then trying DNS 1.1.1.1 and/or 8.8.8.8, try going into the BT router and making sure Smart Setup is off and another thing to try is to change the MTU to 1492.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@DanW7 I'm sure it's just a complete coincidence that the only device not working correctly is the recently updated Sky box. Nothing to do with Sky whatsoever, oh no.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Already tried multiple DNS, have MTU at 1492 for Xbox, Smart Setup was the first thing I switched off when I first set the router up.
Can you explain how every other device correctly downloads stuff from Sky, yet the recently updated Sky box is the only thing where it doesn't work, but it's got to be BT's fault?

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Someone did report that Sky said that something was changed on BT's end and that's what's causing the problem.
But what is BT doing differently then others (not Sky)? I'm not with Sky and I'm not with BT and it works.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@LGUser I assume you’re not affected by the issue and are being of no help to anyone here impacted.
I think you need to stop winding people up and leave this thread as your just antagonising people now,
I have just called Sky have just advised me this isnot just BT but any 3rd party provider. they confirm this is a SKY issues and not BT, BT have not change anything, it would appear related to the latest SKY firmware.
Anyone impacted should also call them and register the issue and you will get a refund for the duration.
Saynotongn website has the free phone number for sky (won't let me put it here) if using a landline don't enter a mobile number and pres # when it asks as you will get pushed down self help. Only waited a few minutes

Why does it work on Sky Go but not on the Sky Q box then?

@Goooner1 @LGUser no one can, but can we all stop the argueing as I can see that the thread may be locked if the argueing continues
Sky have not confirmed one way or another who s fault they think it is, there was one report way back in the thread that a Sky Engineer stated on a visit it was BT's fault due to a firmware upgrade that BT didrecently but I wouldn't rely on that .so am guessing this is where the idea of it being BT's fault came from.
I can understand how people are thinking it is Sky's fault as it is strange what is happening
I personally don't think it really matters who's fault it is nor do I think many who are affected care who's fault it is as long as it's fixed quickly so everyone thats affected gets their normal service that they pay for back
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I don't care who's fault it is, so long as it's fixed promptly.
The only reason I think it's Sky's fault is because it only affects the Sky box.
If it was happening on any other device, it could well be down to BT or any other factor.
Is rolling back firmware, if only to rule that out even an option? Is this something Sky can do or have done before?

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Have a look at this thread. I don't know if it's what your problem is, but maybe.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
You really are determined to exonerate Sky aren't you? I have only 1 mobile phone, the Sky+HD box and an iPad currently connected to the hub and I have been having exactly the same issues with failed downloads of Sky programmes.
The thread you direct us to (started by you, with just your sole comment) does nothing whatsoever to address the actual problem so many of us are having. If your downloads are working fine, go away and stop pestering the rest of us who are looking for a proper resolution from a professional technician.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Just had a long conversation with Sky Customer Support. Suggested (eventually) that I change DNS settings to 8.8.8.8. This I have done and problem resolved. (She did say this was a temporary fix). Now have to cancel engineers visit !!!!

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
My Sky Q is hardwired anyway, so it wouldn't appear to be a Wi-Fi issue.
