Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

My son is a software developer for a bank, but did a degree in cyber security, he said it sounds like a DDoS or a Distributor Denial of Service. Which apparently is something that happens when a service provider or website etc gets overwhelmed or has a fault that reduces capacity or gets hacked.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I have spoken to,Sky again and they say it is a known problem that they are working on, on a case by case basis.

Imwas advised to check my broadband with my provider in case they are having a problem.  I said how odd that we all had a problem with our suppliers at the same time?

I think it is very much a Sky issue but they are being very tight lipped about it.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I had a sky engineer out this afternoon.  It is a known problem,  it affects all bt or companies that use bt Internet providers.  I am with ee and have been affected.

As per a user earlier in the thread,  he set my dns settings to 1111. This has temporarily worked,  he said it probably won't work for long so I'm down loading lots this evening

He said that sky have contacted bt and they have admitted they did a change on Sunday or Monday,  but have yet to rectify it.

It's an incompatibility between the sky q boxes and the update,  that's why you'll be able to download using tablets etc

Hope this helps someone in the short term

@Faithylu - exactly same here, corrupted when it does actually work.  Also on BT.  I did change the download format to SD and that helped for a bit, but now nothing is downloading.

So that's why this affects so many on BT. Now we know it's a problem on BT's end.

I don't know if it's OK now (I've got BT Internet) but an initial download failed for The Lost Symbol but is now downloading Ok (and playing).

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

For the last week or so I am having issues with downloading several programs. I get a message which says down load failed unavailable.  I have looked at this forum and it seems a very large issue. Sky, please sort this out.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

Once again, I have managed to download a movie in the early hours. 05:45hrs.
I'm guessing I won't be able to in a couple of hours.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

For what it's worth, the issue started 2 weeks ago for me. I use BT. When I called sky I was told it's an issue their end and they will be in touch.

Sky's service has deteriorated in the last few years, this is the 3rd issue I've had in 9 months. I'm cancelling sky and taking a Now TV subscription instead.
