Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726

You will see this thread and others have been running for ages.

I called and was told the usual, new company, it will come etc. so nothing has changed.

Sky has a great offering and I am very happy with it.

But in today's world with scammers and spammers the one growth industry, we need all the help we can get from our provider.

This is a simple process. You are not being asked to develop anything.

You piggyback on O2 and they have it in place already.

We look forward to your update and thanks for letting us know but it is vital now and is going nowhere.

Tried it today and texting a SPAM message to 7726 appeared to work OK. 

It got the standard responses: a SKY Mobile text reply acknowledging it and asking for the number the SPAM was from, and then after sending that a text saying it has been logged and will be investigated.

Starfish1999 thanks so much for this excellent news. I tried it on one I got and it worked fine.

Working as designed now and how every other mobile network does it. 

Well done Sky great work and I wish they had told us as it is a big thing for many.

I tried this last week and it worked fine, but tried again today with another spam text and it keeps failing to send.

Odd - just tried it now and it works fine.  I was WiFi Calling if in case that makes a difference; although a long-shot. Sorry I am not able to help further.

I've added 7726 to my contacts and sent a test message and it looks as if it will now work, thank you.

I just had the same message when I forwarded a scam text. I had been trying to forward a screen shot of the text, as that included the number it was sent from as well, so thought that would be quicker, but kept getting an undelivered notification!

I had a new spam message yesterday and reported it fine.

First one is to forward.

Second it replies immediately asking the number of the person that sent it.

Third it acknowledges.

It is working as designed.

There is no need to attach anything, let alone a screen shot. That is not how it is designed.

You just  forward the mesage to SPAM (7726). Add that to your contacts first though.
