Ofcom recommend that all scam texts are forwarded to short code 7726 (spells SPAM) on your phone keypad). Each time I try to forward such messages via Sky Mobile it fails to send. I have spoken to Sky Mobile who tell me that they are a new provider and don't have access to all the short codes yet. That feels like an excuse from someone who actually doesn't know the answer.
Why would a major mobile network like Sky Minike not participate in their regulator's scheme to report scam texts?

Tried it today and texting a SPAM message to 7726 appeared to work OK.
It got the standard responses: a SKY Mobile text reply acknowledging it and asking for the number the SPAM was from, and then after sending that a text saying it has been logged and will be investigated.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
The person you spoke to is correct is that for reasons I don't understand Sky Mobile still doesn't support all short numbers so if this one isn't working either then it is still not supported. I have to disagree with what the person said in calling Sky a new mobile company as they have been around for a few years now.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
Thanks, although it seems crazy that Sky Mobile has chosen not to facilitate the use of 7726 on its own network. I suppose my only option is to contact Ofcom and draw it to their attention and leave it for them to decide whether to do something or not. I'd hope that that they would 'encourage' Sky Mobile to do the right thing.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
Considering the times we live in and the awareness which we are all encouraged to have in regards to protecting our data against on line scams, fraudsters, snoopers etc. SKY should be demonstrating their commitment to helping protect their customers and encouraging them to participate in helping defeat this dreadful kind of individuals and groups. A government agency has set up a standardised process for all operators and all citizens of the UK to use, SKY should sort this out with pace and urgency.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
I too have been unable to send text to 7726. I read the the 4 major mobile networks are obliged to provide this service. Sky are on O2 and therefore this should be available. We need to do everything we can to stop and track down these scum scammers.
I look forward to a response to this thread from a Sky representative.

Still waiting for some from Sky in this community to respond to this issue. So many attempted scams we need the ability to report them!

Agreed. I've just moved over to Sky Mobile and getting spam messages now! Disgraceful. Seems they maybe selling my data on. STOP. My number has been ported over from O2 and that number is still under TPS rules.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
Five years ago I got a new sim with Vodafone. It had clearly been a sim that was used before as from day one, I started getting inundated with spam texts and calls for someone called Liam. I forwarded hundreds of these to 7726, and it absolutely saved me! Eventually, ALL of the spam messaging stopped. I have no doubt it was due to the diligence of using 7726.
I'm now with Sky mobile and somehow my number has ended up on a list, so I'm now getting daily spam texts and emails again - only SKY won't let me report to 7726!! I agree with everyone else, this is unacceptable from Sky! No other reporting process is a straightforward, and they are all so much more time consuming than using 7726.
Sky - you need to do more to support and protect your customers. I for one will consider leaving if you refuse to help as I will not put up with spam messaging everyday on your network SIM card.

SKY SUPPORT - Respond to these boards or you are obviously avoiding this and admitting in silence your policy on data selling and potentially violating GDPR with a course to countless court claims.

Hi @ChrisK these boards are a customer to customer forum, it's not sky support, you will either need to call sky for help or raise an official complaint to get a response from sky.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
Hi
I have also submitted a complaint, it seems pretty poor not to support a goverment backed anti phishing scheme.
Its not like Sky can argue that they are an impoverised new starter.
Regards
Ian

If you want to complain about spam text, a work around is going to the following website, whilst sky sort out their act with 7726.

Re: Sky won’t let me report scam texts to 7726
Yes that is the only way this can be done with Sky. It is not a workaround as they make it very clear they will not do this.
Quite appalling customer service.
