Not sure what you peeps are up to but not had a problem with my setup since day 1.

@bob1234 @nigea99 I removed the spitter box but then the projector connected to Monitor 2 Out of the AVR wouldn't "find sources". I also wasn't getting any sound from the AVR for the Sky Q box (Amazon Fire Stick etc. worked fine). Somewhat odd as Virgin Media was working fine with my splitter box configuration to both TV and projector through Monitor 1 Out of the AVR.
The engineer brought in a 2 metre Sky HMDI cable which he left with me (thankfully). I decided to swap my braided "high speed" cable connected between the AVR and Splitter (I tried connecting it direct to TV as well) with the Sky HDMI cable and "bingo! - no more picture drop outs. Somehow Monitor 2 Out from the AVR to projector and Monitor 1 Out to the TV both work fine now with all sources. Bloody cables! So I'm all set up with HD/UHD picture (2160p 10-bit works), with 7.1.2 Dobly Atmos sound through the AVR. Pass through also works. Thanks for your tips.

Glad you have got it sorted. @JimmyJohn 🙂
I normally suggest change of cable as a default but for some reason didn't think to so glad you thought to do so & that this has sorted you.

Where did you buy said high speed cable from and what brand is it?
11 Feb 2022 02:18 PM
@DipDipDipam Not really branded (AviBrex) just a cheap job from Amazon

As said, it worked just fine with the Virgin Media Tivo V6 box with the Denon X3700H but not the Sky Q. Could be a combination of using the Sky-supplied HDMI cable and other setting changes - but it now works.

Sometimes the cheap ones aren't the spec they are said to be.

I'd definitely recommend these https://www.richersounds.com/audioquest-pearl-hdmi-1m-48-gbps-hdmi-2-1.html

hmmm - that seems very expensive
For SKY Q you only need 4K and even good 8K cables can be found a lot cheaper

@nigea99 I don't get why you'd spend over £1,000 on a AVR to then skimp on cables. You don't buy a supercar and then fill it up with Tesco 95 Ron fuel or fit budget tyres.
The Amazon cables are made to a budget and maximised for profit. They're more likely to fail or have the quality fluctuate IMO.
All my hdmi cables are audioquest pearls. Never had a problem withy setup since day 1 and reading all these posts, I can't help thinking that it's not by luck. I've researched each part properly and ensured I've bought equipment which best compliments each other.

Simply because cheaper cables can work just as well - you really don't need to spend that much.

Cheaper cables can work but cheap cables don't. I'm only recommending cables I've used and with my setup never had an issue.
Can't recommend something I've not used.

Indeed, I wouldn't expect you to recommend ones you have not used.
Personally I have never had any problems with these cables :
And also their older 4K versions that I have a few more of that I use to connect my equipment including my UHD Player & SKY Q through my AV Amp.

It's also important not to introdue to acute a bend to the hdmi cable
