Sky Q box won’t record

We recently had our box relocated to another room due to renovations but it was not switched on until tonight after being disconnected for at least a month.
We have successfully set it up to the TV but it won't record and we can't see our recordings.  It also shows the catch up screen but we can't actually watch anything! We don't want to do reset or factory restore as we will lose everything! Have we missed something?
