Re: Sky HDR
@gems+151 Yes I understand. I didn't think any TV at all pre 2016 could get HDR of whatever variety? The KU model you mention surely is over 5 years old now?

Re: Upgrade old Sky Q 2TB to new version for HDR
A poster on AV Forums, has just started a new 18 month contract so is in their cooling off period and has been successful in getting a new box after threatening cancellation.
Am I allowed to post a link?

Maybe see if they can upgrade it to an 8K sofa: you don't want to be left sitting on an obsolete model ; )

Re: Sky HDR
@rozel that might be the case I'm a oled guy through and through so I'm only trying to go off what I can find online and it did say Samsung's 2016 probably won't have HLG. I mean my mum has a 4k TV non HDR as she got it when 4k became mainstream and she can't understand why mines HDR and hers isn't lol. The reveiws on that model I only uploaded went back 3..5 years. That's the model MINNI had. So whilst people who have the old box are disappointed they might be doubly disappointed when it turns out after a box swap they still can't view HDR as HLG isn't supported. So it would make sense to post your TV model along with the Box model so we can atleast have a look to see if it would be an issue due to the TV too

That seems reasonable, if they're in the cooling off period for the new contract. As for the rest of us, there's hardly any HDR content for the moment, so I don't think it's too unreasonable to wait a little while for the situation to be clarified.

Re: Sky HDR
@planearm I agree. I hate lemurs too. Why couldn't we have HDR polar bears. My rant is why the hell are lemurs in HDR does anyone want to swap boxes so I can have SDR lemurs please

Re: Sky HDR
@gems+151 Not necessarily a safe assumption to make. My daughter and son in law have exactly the same tv as me. Both upgraded to sky q at the same time. Both got v2 boxes. She hasn't had a single problem with her v2 box.

Re: Sky HDR
for me there is no Sky Nature in the channels under Sky Catch Up.
It was my error. That's where I'd looked originally. But then realised after posting that I'd actually found the content by searching "Gangs of Lemur". Apologies for confusing...

Re: Sky HDR
im not happy its true, but i just want sky to issue a statement to V1 owners just explaining what will be happening with customers who have V1 boxes...just wait IMHO is poor customer service and communication.

Re: Sky HDR
@g652wly or a problem she didn't notice either way if sky knew there was an issue with a certain box they wouldn't have swapped for the same version to avoid you calling again for the same issue

Re: Sky HDR
@lettice Why do I need to do this? I know the Harware version in settings is 32B206 whereas my box is a ES340d9 - the web browser says 32B206. This is a well known issue certainly for the newer boxes. This is well described here: -
