Sky Go broken on Windows 10

Anyone know how to fix this problem with Sky Go on Windows 10 laptop.

 

It launches, checks for updates, then disapears.

 

I have, checked hidden files, searched etc and cannot find a Cisco Video Guard folder (as per other advice)

 

I have removed all antivirus and firewalls

 

I have checked my laptop is powerful enough with correct ram and video card.

 

I am at the end of my patience. and with the bloody Sky Q box constantly disconnecting from my WiFi router, I think after 23 years with Sky, I am going to leave!

 

Thanks for any help anyone can suggest

Don't worry about the Cisco files as they might not be present but try this in order:

 

Uninstall the Sky Go app and then go to 'C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming (ensure hidden files/folders are visible) and delete the following folders:

 

Sky
Sky Go

 

Empty your recycle bin.

 

Reboot your PC and then download and install the Sky Go app again.

Yeah done that about 10 times as per previous advice I researched.  Doesn work, but thanks for trying

Is there a way of downloading the Beta version without first downloading the normal desktop app?   from a zip file or something?

 

Because the link says you have to download the Sky Go app first before selecting the beta option from the settings.  I have the app, just that it force closes after checking for updates so I cant get as far as selecting the beta option

Good point as I had forgotten about that, as far as I know that is the only way to do it so this isn't going to help either !
