Who cares about the reviews, get the tv then make your own mind up,if you don't like it then send it back simple as,it's not for everyone,I wish people would stop trying to compare it to a high spec tv

Not sure anyone would think of comparing Sky Glass with an High end TV.

It's about as far removed from a high-end TV as you can get. Minus the inclusion of HDMI 2.1 - but even that's bizarre because they're useless.

Reviews are there for a reason and they're making it abundantly clear where this TV falls flat. Sky charge premium prices and have a budget TV.

The two don't align.

People understandably wanted, perhaps expected more. All new content is advertised as ULTRA HDR (as they're now calling it) but to hoodwink customers with extortionate prices, in full knowledge that their experience with that content will be rubbish, is just plain wrong.

Maybe they're just hoping people will see content in HDR, see that their TV 'does' HDR and are happily oblivious that what they're seeing is really no different to what they'd be seeing without the extra cost.

@d2h  Like I said no one cares about the reviews,if people didn't like it then why do so many have it and you can't get hold of the tv? People should make up their own mind Sky aren't holding a gun to their heads telling them they must keep it,yes they charge a premium for it but so do other companies like Apple for example and they aren't the best phones ,maybe people should stop bashing it and give it a chance and stop expecting too much from it,it's a mid range tv not some 3 grand OLED

@jas2000  Do you even have the Glass tv? Or are you just posting negative posts to wind people up when there is already so many on here, again instead of bashing it get it(if you can) then make up your own mind up instead  of reading reviews from the likes of techradar, the express and wired

@d2h  Like I said no one cares about the reviews,if people didn't like it then why do so many have it and you can't get hold of the tv? Because Sky were underhand and allowed people to order/purchase the TV solely on what they advertised the TV as. Cloud recording etc. all as standard. People only began to realise the serious limitations of the TV, e.g. very limited recording and dark HDR, upon real-world use. Like I said, people do care about reviews... and they're only just able to read them seeing as Sky didn't allow review samples out until long after the TV was out there and certain outlets had begun to pick up on the issues. Have you heard of damage limitation? Promise of a big new update and an Apple TV+ app are used a headlines and the fact that their update is only going to create the "perception" of increased brightness has already got lost.

People should make up their own mind Sky aren't holding a gun to their heads telling them they must keep it,yes they charge a premium for it but so do other companies like Apple for example and they aren't the best phones The difference with Apple is that they're incredibly stable products from launch and they do what they're advertised as doing. The recent 'SharePlay' feature was missing upon the iOS 15 release - but nobody had an issue with that because it was clearly advertised as coming at a later date (which it did). What Sky are doing is in many ways much worse than holding a gun to peoples heads - they're allowing people to spend their hard-earned money on a substandard product while letting them believe it's the next big thing and a Sky Q replacement.

,maybe people should stop bashing it and give it a chance and stop expecting too much from it,it's a mid range tv not some 3 grand OLED By default, Sky does TV - including recording, HDR, and everything else you associate with it. They're now physically doing TV too. The minimum expectations of people are that the TV will record (Sky's choice of word, not mine) and that they can watch the content they pay good money for in the best available quality. After all, it is a TV. To have that experience spoiled by either being completely unable to watch content because Sky failed to tell anybody that it may or may not be available to watch, or that it may appear quite dark - making viewing incredibly tough and uninspiring - is just awful.

Maybe you should work for Sky's marketing team because you're clearly trying to maintain positives amongst the many negatives.

@d2h  Do you even have the tv? Again someone who thinks they know it all,at the end of the day it's just a tv,I get people are miffed at the issues it does have, but to me it seems there's a lot more people on here on here who just like to bash the tv when the reality is it isn't that bad, again with other people on here my guess is you don't have it and are commenting based on what other peoples 'reviews' are if you don't like the tv then fine, that's up to you but there's no need to be so negative about it clearly some people must like it or they wouldn't have it all your doing is trying to stop people getting it when they should make up their own mind 👍

I don't have a glass but have looked at and played with one at a friends, I would be quite happy with the picture quality and the sound quality was far better than I expected.

However how we usually view programmes makes it unsuitable as we usually time shift broadcast programmes sometimes by very little and watch while still recording so we can skip over the adverts, with glass this is not possible for many channels.

Is it within the CoC somewhere that only people who have (or still have) the Glass TV are allowed to comment on here? I must have missed it, perhaps you should report every negative comment and let the Mods sort them out?

@Anonymous  No everyone is entitled to their own opinion but how can you make your opinion based off the negatives when you don't even have the tv?it's like me commenting on the latest iPhone when I don't have it,and then making my mind up based of what others are saying,it's getting boring now all the same posts that keep popping up 'sky glass is not a good tv' 'sky glass is rubbish' give it a rest there's more to life than a tv

Considering you didn't bother to reply to @d2h 's comments except to tell them to 'give it a rest' (the same you've just done with myself) perhaps it's you that needs to 'give it a rest' and step back from the forum. If people forming their own opinion affects you that much, then just maybe open forums aren't for you.

Guys,

Just a friendly reminder that you're having a difference of opinion over a tele. This isn't a declaration of war.
