Alternatively, Sky Glass review: the smartest of all smart TVs
Take you pick among the conflicting reviews.

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
So T3 list negatives of Sky Glass
1. Big and Heavy
2. Needs Good Internet
Maybe its me but how does one make a small 65 inch TV. How often do you carry your TV around. And who doesnt need good reliable internet.
Looks almost as if they are fishing for negatives.

Re: Sky Glass review: the smartest of all smart TVs
As soon as they state its one of the best 55 inch televisions you can buy they lost all credibility

https://www.t3.com/reviews/sky-glass-review
"You can buy the Sky Glass now in the UK, and it's expected to arrive in Australia at a later date."
Well, that's going to be a big surprise for quite a few people...
It's a pretty poorly constructed 'review' all round.

Presumably as part of the deal with FOXTEL in Australia.

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
Ah, yes:
"Sky Glass, launched by Sky in London yesterday, will form another element in the Foxtel Group’s streaming-led roadmap and is expected to be available in Australia in late 2023."
Can't help thinking it might not be the same product by then...

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
When I read this comment from T3 about the viewing angle of the Sky Glass screen I have to admit that they lost my confidence in their reviewing ability.
"Wherever you’re sitting in the room, the Sky Glass will give you pretty much the same experience, the picture doesn’t change when you look at it from different angles. Because of that, it’ll be a great choice for larger households and families. "
And I would suggest that their 'Crystal Ball' may not turn out to be as good as they predict, if viewers expect this update to miraculously provide an 'Accurate' relatively bright HLG HDR UHD image;
" the update being rolled out in November 2021 which will improve Sky’s HDR picture quality, increasing brightness, enhancing contrast and boosting colours."
Godfrey.

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
The T3 article is barely a review, it reads more like a reworded press release.
One of the images even has a missing TV show in the guide!

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
Reasonably balanced review by Expert Reviews https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/sky/1414653/sky-glass-review
Some useful technical details, summary not too bad for SDR not so good for HDR 3 stars overall.

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
@TomAC1987 if Sky were trying to keep that quiet they did a pretty lousy job. There is a long FAQ by a Sky manager at the top of the forum saying exactly the same thing. The review you quote from is a balanced and sensible review so people should read it themselves.
Whether it causes the product to flop is not clear. Personally it is not something I will be losing sleep over as 90% of my viewing is from apps already and I am far from being alone.

Re: Sky Glass is Not a Good Television (Not my words)
Two weks ago:
"Why are there no real world reviews?"
This week
"I disagree with these reviews".
Did you consider that it might just be a **bleep** product, launched to the wrong people, with subpar specs and more problems than any newly launched catagory of product in a long time?

They did keep it quiet until the item had already taken orders and was physically in peoples homes.
As for viewing content via apps - I'm pretty sure that can be achieved already, using better TVs. The only thing you'd be giving up is UHD, which is no great shakes without HDR anyway.
