I had exactly the same problem 

Keep the TV on be patient and it automatically comes back on 

This is the trouble with streaming

I would save yourself time and go about your day, it's a system wide outage and sky are on the case.

Saying that, I turned the sky stream off and back on and the homepage is now working.

Glass turns on but error message telling me programmes not available ... same on all TVs, nobody about to take call for over an hour .... can't get menus and remote useless

This does work. I have just done it on mine and rang my mum and told her to do the same all good now.

I believe a fix has been applied and so should be working soon if not already

It would appear Dan's dictatorship has caused sky to remedy this issue within a few minutes of Dan's dictatorship pointing out the fault .... the absolute fastest results in politics!!!!

No one can give you a time frame. It is being looked at by sky though. They know there's an issue.

My service is now working though, the homescreen has loaded.
