Sky App will not work on iPad Air

I have an early model of iPad Air from 2015. Since the Sky app has been updated it will not run on this platform. Consequently I am unable to take part in promotions such as the current one to enter a draw for a Sky Glass set. I have been a Sky VIP member for 19 years.

When I try to download the app it says that the current version is not compatible with my version of ios  and says that I can download an earlier version of the app that is still compatible. However this does not work.

I can't find any other way of taking advantage of the VIP offer?

The app requires 14.0 or above now.

Do you have a PC @COLBY2467 ?

Re: Sky App will not work on iPad Air

I’m not inclined to install 3rd party software on the PC to resolve this. It seems that Sky don’t consider this to be an issue?

Unfortunately, Apple stopped supporting older devices, which makes it increasingly difficult for developers to support them.

It is more than your device can't be updated to the newer software which happens will all mobiles and tablets as time goes on. All you can do now is to call Sky and have them access Sky VIP items for you.

Re: Sky App will not work on iPad Air

I too have an older version of the IPad Air. It’s ridiculous we can’t now access certain Sky apps. Is this a way of ensuring we all throw our perfectly adequate iPads away and buy new ones? Totally unimpressed.
