Setup Guidance

Hi, I still have my Sky broadband but 'd like to try setting up Sky Q with another internet provider. I have Sky and another provider broadband currently. I have a Sky mini box, as well as the main Sky main box and Sky Q router. Ideally I'd like to connect the main Sky Q box via ethernet to the second provider and then connect the mini to that box. What would the process be?

Whats the reason for having two internet providers and mixing them?

The only way your Sky Q system will work is if the Q box and minis are all connected to the same network

Re: Setup Guidance

New broadband is Satellite and I want to be 100% sure everything works OK before terminating the Sky broadband. I got the main box working via ethernet on the new broadband but the mini box wouldn't connect to the main box, kept failing.

The Mini is probably very confused because it has been in a mesh with the main Q box and the Sky Hub, and now it's feeling lonely.  You probably need to have the Sky Hub switched off, then do a network reset on the Mini and WPS it with the main Q box.

Is it traditional satellite broadband or Starlink? Sky Q isnt compatible with traditional satellite broadband.

It's Starlink, should that be OK?

Starlink should be okay due to its low orbit low latency nature
