Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

No cigars re. F1; the only "offer" is £18/month, can't even do £10, let alone £2.

He did mention that they often have Black Friday offers in November.

I asked the assistant to note they've priced themselves out of the market for me.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

£18 per month just for F1 is crazy. I literally only want to watch the actual races live, so a 10 month season of 23 races is just too much at a cost of £180 for 46 hours of racing.

I definitely miss seeing it live but am getting used to watching it later on C4 now. Might not even be tempted back with a £10 per month offer now.

Imagine paying the £18 and then realising  most of August is quiet.

Anyone who has followed F1 for more than a season knows August is always quiet, apart from the last weekend which usually features one of the greatest tracks of the year.

So are you implying that when signing up to anything with sky its 'buyer beware'?

I don't know who you're replying to, but 'buyer beware' applies whether you're buying anything from Sky or anybody else. It's up to a buyer to make sure they understand what they're buying and to satisfy themselves that it's suitable for what they want

@Mark39  Companies have a duty not to mislead customers. Am I to assume that sky are happy to mislead customers?

Well, I'm not Sky so I can't answer your question,  nor do I believe Sky set out deliberately to mislead customers..  However, what you say isn't relevant to the need for 'buyer beware'.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I think the main point of this thread is that £18 per month for F1 prices it out for most people including fans who have been there for years, especially with other sky price rises. There is also the issue that if people accept £18, then why not £20, £25 and the only way to keep it sensible is to vote with your feet and make them realise it's too much.  When they first got F1 it was free (with hd pack) then slowly has gone up. There has to be a point where it gets too much. There's also the fact that the races are covered by Chanel 4 for free and highlights are on sky one and all the build up and after shows are on sky YouTube so it's not like you are getting anything exclusive for your £216 per year, just see a couple of hours earlier.

The full sports bundle isn't much more than the single channel option, so it's not going to creep up much.

Yes, it was included in the HD pack, then they launched a new, cheaper, HD pack without it..

Oh and C4 only has highlights of most races -it's only the British GP they show in it's entirety and even then, only in HD, not UHD.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

C4 shows the whole race later not just highlights. British was live and in full might be the confusion. UHD also costs an extra £4 on top of HD and isn't a lot better IMHO - not on my TV anyway. Definitely not prepared to pay £22 per month for F1 UHD

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

@RL11 , C4 only broadcasts free-to-air highlights of all races, and live coverage of the British Grand Prix.

No, C4 only have rights to show the British GP in it's entirety. Others are just highlights, as confirmed by C4's own announcement of the deal.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I know, but are you saying that's worth the price? £10 was the limit for me and are if you are happy to pay £18 for a couple of hrs early and the laps where nothing happens then that's all good  Please just don't be surprised if it goes up even more as they appear to have got away with nearly doubling the subscription so what's a fee more quid. My bet is that it's £20 next season

They haven't doubled the subscription at all. They simply didn't offer a discount this year.

£20 a month gets you all the Sky Sports channels (on an 18 month deal), so they're not going to put F1 up to that.
