Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
That is the device I current have connected. These are the steps followed when I got mine set-up, just do not to use the tether app to set-up, use Ethernet connected device to set up
- Plug in your TP-Link to a power supply and connect the grey DSL cable to the corresponding port on the back of your router.
- Connect the other end of your DSL cable to the micro-filter that comes with the router and connect it to your phone socket. If you already have a micro-filter, replace it with the new one.
- Connect the network cable to port 1 on the router, then connect the other end to your laptop.
- Open a browser window and navigate to http://192.168.1.1.
- The TP-Link will ask you to set an admin password – make sure you use something secure.
- Once in, the TP-Link setup wizard will start:
- Input your location and time zone. Click Next.
- Select Sky(MER)_VDSL from the ISP list. Make sure it’s this one, as this is Sky fibre. The other Sky option in the list is for Sky Broadband and will not work for fibre connections.
- In the username field, enter abcdefgh@skydsl
- In the password field, enter 1234567890abcdef
- Click Next, then set up your wireless network how you see fit.
- The TP-Link will then test the Internet connection and you should see a success message. If you do not, wait for the DSL light to stop flashing and try again – it should work just fine.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
There is a bug on the lastest firmware for that device, where the router reboots itself at random times, some users it's daily, others (including me) it's fine for 12-15 days. I've rolled mine back to the stable version and just monitoring it.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
I replaced mine with netgear, reboot was very annoying. Taking it back for refund. I tried different firmware and still had the same issue. I hope you will have a better luck. Om the pmus side is very easy to set up. Just follow above steps.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
Tried that and worked a dream, thank you for such clear guidance. My firmware is on the right version so will leave well alone.
Just one thing I don't get is after disconnecting my sky router it still seems to show, see attached its SKYRWTSZ that's mad as its unplugged.
Cheers Vincey

Glad it's all working for you.
Not sure about the old network still showing. I renamed mine to the same as my old network.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
I think the old router showing was my phone catching up, ots gone now.
Already we have much faster speeds and low ping, very pleased with this router.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
MER is the one used for Sky’s FTTC Superfast. If you currently have Sky Broadband, get speeds from 28-80 Mbs and a Sky Hub like the middle one then you’ll need to select MER

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
@Kierandgaf you have a SR203 or 204 which Sky use for various services and supply to customers with the Broadband Boost bundle somit depends on what service you get from Sky. If you are on Superfast over copper then the instructions @Skull+Treaty posted should work. However if you are on Ultrafast they may not.
However note if you Sky Talk line connects to the hub rather than to a wall socket that will not work with any third party router. There are no known ways round that restriction.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
