Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
Most modern ADSL2+/VDSL2 modem routers will work with Sky these days but because they consider DHCP Option 61 (a requirement for authenticating) an advanced option they leave it up to the user to work it out. But the last one you just picked is compatible and I'm sure a few screenshots posted to the forum we will point you in the right direction on setting it up, and Netgear routers are nice.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
Are you on sky essentials or superfast? There should be no reason why you can't use it again if its worked previously

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
I used the tp link archer VR400 and it was a simple process to set up. I've actually gone back to the sky hub which was upgraded to new firmware and hardwired in the mini boxes and all seems ok. Anyone wanna buy a tp link modem router haha!

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
You should be able to download the updated firmware for the new ADSL2+/VDSL2 router to a computer via the connection method you are using now and update the new router firmware via a LAN interface offline.

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
Most new netgear dsl modem routers will come with minimum f/w to allow a simple select isp and away you go. In addition to @mae-3 advice you should also be able to use netgear as access point to sky hub and update that way. Factory resetting will the remove ap tag and maintain f/w version. Allowing you to bring it through as auto ip when directly connected to the mastersocket

Re: Replacing Sky Q Modem Router Suggestions??
Can you post the set up screen of tp link to see if it offers any preset isp configuration or lets you enter dhcp option 61/sky mer/client identifier. Also are you superfast
