It was not obvious when you already pay that you are. charged extra. If the impertinent composer of the reference to a clue is anything to go by if shows a contempt for a customer

I have just encountered an issue tonight that annoyed me. I subscribe to the Football channels and BT Sports. Tonight (16th Feb) a match that my lad wanted to watch appeared on Sky Sports Arena?
It was an EFL game and so i assumed that, like the main event channel, it would allow us to watch the match as i pay for the football channels.
This was not the case and it displayed the usual 'You do not subscribe' message. I rang SKY to ask why the match wasn't available and i was told that i needed to subscribe to Sky sports arena for £8/month to view it. My question remains unanswered, How many subscriptions does one household need to have to watch English football? It's rediculous. I thought the pay per view football was a joke but this is another stupid decision by SKY.

I've just checked and middlesborough v Huddersfield which is on arena is actually on sky sports football via the red button if you don't subscribe to arena

Yeah we tried it but it said 'Content not available'. I rang Sky and they said i couldn't watch it unless i subscribed to Sky Sports Arena for an extra £8/month.
I aint paying £8 to watch Town hahaha.
Cheers for your help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CP789 No consolation, but I suspect this is an oversight on Sky's part.
If you subscribe to Sky Sports Football, then you should be able to watch the red button games on Sky Sports Football.
However, when you go to the red button tonight and select the Middlesbrough - Huddersfield game, it pulls in the Sky Sports Arena HD feed rather than the normal poor SD feed. I suspect this is what is causing it to be unavoidable to you.
Out of interest, if it's not too late, can you see the other red button games or are they all unavailable?

Hi, cheers for the info. The other matches worked. Sod's law that the one we wanted didn't!
I rang SKY and they just tried to sell me upgrades after going through a list of COVID questions! I pointed out that you can't catch COVID over the phone and the match was ticking away whilst she waffled on.
I understand why they ask the questions but there was going to be no need for an engineer to come out foe this issue 🤦♂️
