Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@johnnyd62 you haven't understood the background to this. Sky don't own the rights to the matches being offered via PPV.
The Premier League does.
So it's not within Sky's power to let you watch them for free, but the Premier Lesgue could, if they chose to. Take it up with them.

For the umpteenth time: The Premier League decided to offer these EXTRA matches via PPV on Sky and BT. Sky or BT cannot, and did not, decide on the price.
It's a lost cause @digglerthelegend ...
No amount of repetition seems to get through...😁😁😁

it would have been nice for the rich ie sky and premier league to have shown these matches for free.
The PL exists to make rich people (owners, investors, managers, agents, players) richer. Any sporting aspect to their business is a historical accident, and I'm amazed that football fans continue to be surprised by this.

Once again the public, who are heading back into lockdown, are going to be punished and ripped off to watch our national sport, by the money grabbing tv companies and the Premier league, the lot of you are a disgrace. Been a customer of sky for, well I'm black diamond , and I feel its time to save my cash and cancel my sky contract, don't like being ripped off
Yours in disgust

In that case, maybe its owners should have chosen to keep it on 'national' television back in 1992 instead of rejecting an ITV bid and chasing the satellite subscription market instead...

it's worth noting this is not definitely happening as yet the premier league will not formally vote on it until next week, so things could still change

I quite agree there is a lot of information a facts on this subject about is it sky or the PL but I agree with you all of that misses the point. If customers are feeling ripped off they probably are being ripped off and I will not be renewing anything to do with the sky and the PL they are just too greedy and out of touch with there supporters.

So you'd cancel Sky because you're feeling aggrieved, though this is not of their doing? How very odd.

You do know that nobody is being forced to pay the £14.95 price as it is your choice if you do this or not.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt would be quite ironic if the proposed scrapping of the PPV meant that the 5 games weren't televised at all as per the normal TV contract.
Everyone seems to be assuming that it means they will be available for free like they were during Project Restart.

Yeah i don't think there be any on FTA like they were during project restart at best they be shown via subscription channel at worse they won't be shown at all (although this seems unlikely)
