Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Hi received my new hub for faster broadband, the password given will not work (unauthorised access) the wps will not work and although the broadband test shows all ok, i am unable to connect other devises. My tv is connected but with a grey ethernet cable we have had for years, (this wasnt provided by sky). So tv connected wired device, wireless not connected, password doesnt work please advise.

@Broders press and hold in the reset pin until the power led flashes which can take 20 seconds. That will reset the Hub to the default password on the label. Although the hub should have been refurbished before being sent oout it is possible someone gorgot to reset it.

If tgst doesnt work give Sky a call.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

I've received the new router as have gone to Fibre max and it's far worse than the old router, both work form home as well, very poor

How so?  One issue can be where a device that was happily using a slower but stronger 2.4Ghz signal from an SR102 Hub starts to try to work on weaker 5Ghz from an SR203/204

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Don't know, we were both fine with the old hub but now the connection seems fine to the laptops but zoom calls cutting in and out. Going to have to get rid and get another router this one just seems poor

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Got my SR203 last week and the only problem I have come across (that's got me stumped) is that my HP printer flatly refuses to connect over Wi-Fi.

The printer only supports 2.4ghz and it finds the router OK, but pop in the password and nope. When I print the error report, it says that the printer is being refused connection due to MAC filtering, but the hub does have this. So confused...

Worked fine on my SR102.

@wizbit-7

You may need to split the WiFi bands, follow this User Guide in how to do this:

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Just tried this and it's still the same. Still reports that the MAC was being filtered. So I tried plugging in a spare access point I had and set it up with the same details and it connects instantly.

HP's website says I have the latest firmware.

A Bit annoying...

@wizbit-7 glad you got it sorted but you have summarised my experience of HP printers except I might express them in more colourful language. I have wasted more hours than I can remember getting the things to connect.

Two groups of devices we get people reporting that wont connect are HP printers and any Amazon devices but when you look online you will find it isnt limited to Sky hubs. 😀

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Hi. My new Sky Broadband Hub arrives tomorrow, please can someone advise how to change the password to the existing one, as I don't want to reconnect all the existing devices, if indeed this can be done.

Thanks in advance.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Thanks, If I put my existing Name & Password in, will my devices auto connect?

@Cityladdid the very same myself and had no issue at all. Connect it on its own via a wired connection, change the password and things should connect without issue.
