Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

@jamesn123 - many thanks for the response. My hub arrived today but as it doesn't fit through the letterbox it's at the sorting office for me to collect! Shall try it tomorrow and let you know how I get on! 👍

If you check your online MySky and look in Track Order you will see a  Royal Mail tracking inumber which will tack it and show  the expected date it is due to arrive and where it is on its journey to you.

I ordered mine Wednesday last week an it got delivered Sauturday.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

@Steve-35 Thanks for the update good to know we are not going mad and don’t need to move in with neighbours just to get Ultrafast .. not sure I would want to with my neighbours 🤐. Just have to be patient I suppose hopefully not too far away given the basics are already on Sky’s website 😃

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

@DaveLloyd agreed it’s frustrating & like you I most definitely wouldn’t want to share the same house as my neighour, bad enough living below her & being in the same block! In the meantime if you need cheering up you could always try haggling a deal for the new router, at least you’d have a shiny new hub to look at while you wait on Ultrafast going live!

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

@Barry+Mc+Kelvey - Hi there. I ordered it Monday morning while chatting on the messaging via the MySky app. I was told it would be 3-5 working days. I'm sure yours will be with you soon. 👍

Same here, no budge on the £5 per month. I only signed up about 3 weeks ago too.

For anyone annoyed at the £5 for Boost especially if having it free...

Sky's WiFi guarantee means:-

1) get Hub 4

2) if you have WiFi issues that troubleshooting doesn't resolve you get a Booster

3) if you still have issues you can get a WiFi networking engineer

4) if you still have issues and the engineer has said it cannot be improved you don't pay for Boost for the rest of it's contract and get refunded for what you have paid (I believe)

If you have Sky Q the above process applies but you miss Step 2.

So charging for the guarantee means you get something back of they cannot meet it.

Otherwise you may go through all 4 steps and when expecting a refund be told you won't get anything as you had Boost free of charge.

Replying to my own message as I made a mistake.

If you have Sky Q the above process applies apart from Step 2 (you'd get an engineer straightaway so the Q mesh isn't sacrificed for WiFi)

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

Excuse me if I have missed it but where on your account or on Sky do you find the new hub to add to your account. I cannot see it anywhere.

or do you need to ring them ?

my superfast fibre says 60mb but our wi fI ranges from under 10mb to 30mb or virtually non existent if outside or in the conservatory.

The speeds were better until we changed from Sky HD to Sky Q.

i get the broadband boost free with being a Diamond customer with a vip reward and just renewed in July for 18 months

@Ian27 don't think you can add the Wifi guarantee online you will have to call Sky and accept a new contract as you added boost before 4/9 but that should ge a formality.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

I've recently switched to Sky Q too over our old regular package, and the speed has more than halved now.  Been on the phone to them and tried everything to fix it, but no joy at all.  Glad it's not just me having this problem and I'm still sane.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub

My new Hub is due for delivery today however I have a question - quite possibly a stupid one - re setup of it.

Currently I have a 4m cable in use with my SkyQ Hub so that I could get it closer to a plug socket as master socket is located typically nowhere near one. Will the new Hub work with this or is this a scenario now where the supplied cables MUST be used? I have attached a pic of cable in question for reference.
